Bordeaux is for sophisticated living, often being described as a 'mini Paris'. Our apartment was selected for its very central location in the heart of the city. The apartment is situated between the prestigious shopping street 'Cours de l’Intendance' and the famous Gambetta Garden-square. All this area offers a smart selection of bistro restaurants, cafés, boutique clothes and jewelry shops, delicatessen and specialized gift shops. All shops and the tramway are literally just steps away.
This air-conditioned duplex-apartment (two Levels ) of 100 sqm, is located in a fully renovated registered 18th century building ('Hotel du Palais Gallien'). This apartment has been beautifully and totally renovated in 2008 and finished with all-new furnishings, fixtures and fittings. The apartment is full air-conditioned. The living room opens on a private terrace-garden (30 m2) where you can have breakfast, lunch, diner or simply take sun. For your convenience there is WiFi and broadband Internet access (20 Mega), phone, cable TV (60 channels, BBC, CNN...) and a private parking.
The apartment is offering (at ground floor level, with the access to your private garden) a beautiful and light open plan living space of more than 45 sqm, with original wooden floors, 2 huge door-windows overlooking the private and sunny garden, a kitchen fully equipped and a separate toilet with a wash hands. At the first floor of the duplex apartment, you find a desk area, two separate comfortable bedrooms (Queen size bed of 160cmX200cm in each bedroom)and a modern bathroom with a bath, a separate shower and a second toilet. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard, tastefully presented and modern, but in keeping with its period.
Bordeaux is in the heart of a very large and old wine area, and you will go for wine tastings in famous Medoc châteaux. It is also 50 km from the sea (Arcachon and Cap Ferret), 180 km from Spain and the mountains (Pyrénées). There are many lakes and beautiful scenary around town. The town vast world heritage site has recently been totaly cleaned and the quays along the Garonne river developed.

The most important apartment advantage: The great central location !! From this apartment you can walk everywhere in Bordeaux in a few minutes (see the Google map). You have food shops, restaurants, theater and cinemas just down the apartment. Have look on the Guestbook !!.

Excellent stay in the heart of Bordeaux. The location of this apartment is fantastic for walkable access to everything the city has to offer. We used its as a staying point for daily trips to the wine regions without any issues (as long as you have a car). The accommodations were very nice, with the back yard being the greatest asset. Parking comes with the apartment. The apartment has 2 bedrooms - good fit for 2 couples. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit treacherous, so definitely watch out especially at night. Overall, the stay was great and Olivier, the owner, was very easy to deal with. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future visits and would recommend it to others whoa want to explore the region.
We stayed here for 2 weeks in September of 2014 with another couple. We all agreed that this was by far the nicest apartment that any of us had ever holidayed in. Safe, secure, beautifully appointed and equipped, excellent location. The pictures don't do it justice. The outside seating space was delightful. The owner made the process as easy as pie. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would certainly entertain the idea of renting another of his apartments on a future European holiday.
We stayed in this apartment for 6 nights, and it was absolutely perfect for our needs. I do not think the photos do it justice, it was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. It was on the ground floor so there were no issues with luggage and lifts or flights of stairs, we loved sitting outside when the sun went down and as it was incredibly warm and humid during our stay the air-conditioning was appreciated. Location was fabulous, it was a couple of hundred metres to the Number 16 bus stop which we needed to get to the Villa Primrose tennis club, this bus around a corner also goes to the train station. The apartment is walking distance to all in Bordeaux, just sensational. It poured with rain one night so we went to a restaurant about 100m down the street, the restaurant is actually directly opposite the cinema complex entrance, which was very very good, so we ventured there again. Olivier the landlord was great and very friendly and he gave us all necessary instructions and information we needed. Small supermarket across the road and a boulangeri virtually next door. Olivier recommended a restaurant however, unfortunately we went to the wrong one, needless to say, that member of our travelling group got the sack as a guide. i have two minor comments/feedback to make, one was to add into the washing machine instructions how long before the door of the machine opens and being from Western Australia we do not frequently use clothes dryers as deem this a waste of energy, therefore a clothes airer to put out on the terrace would be good. This was a wonderful choice for us, I would recommend it to all our friends and hopefully perhaps we will return one day. Thanks Olivier for your hospitality.
I would highly recommend this apartment. Friendly and helpful owner along with a perfect location for access to mass transit, shopping and nightlife make this a five star for me. And in a town with little air conditioning, the A/C worked great and made sleeping pleasurable. Perfect for 4 adults with 2 bathrooms. One caution, had very bad experience with taxi whose cards were in the apartment. I would avoid using them.
Thank you Olivier for providing your apartment. Everything was as represented, clean and very well located, we were able to walk to all attractions and amenities. What isn't apparent from the ad is just how peaceful and quiet the location is, despite being in the hub. Normally we wouldn't rent a ground floor apartment due to noise and security concerns, however this apartment is located to the rear of a large courtyard, well away from the road. Also you need to progress through two security doors to get to the apartment. We stayed for a week and have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to any prospective tenant.
Olivier, the owner met us on our arrival date and showed us around, including how to work everything. We loved the apartment and how it was decorated. Everything was top rate! We were completely comfortable and felt very at home. The beds were comfortable,the bedding and linens were of good quality. There is a back patio (enclosed) which was lovely. The whole place was spotless. I would highly recommend this to a family travelling (we were three, husband, wife and 22 yr. old daughter) or even to two couples. He had everything you could need. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the glasses, plates, bowl,cups and other basics you could needs and they were all in good condition and of good quality. It was a secure building in a great location. If going to Bordeaux ( we loved the city too) you could not find a better place to stay!
