Incredible Adirondack retreat that includes a chalet, the Cuckoo's Nest, and hand hewn log home, the Nuthatch. 35 feet apart. Wood stove in the chalet and a stone fireplace in the cabin. Spectacular mountain views. Crystal clear stocked pond. Gleaming tiger wood flooring in the Cuckoo's Nest and walnut flooring throughout the Nuthatch frame the thick piled Persian rugs. Massive cedar beds with handmade quilts, antiques and gorgeous art work adorn this beautiful place. There are full kitchens and laundrys in both homes with brand new stainless steel appliances. A huge walk in stone shower in the chalet with a Jacuzzi and Whirlpool in the cabin. Roughly 4500 sq feet of gorgeously decorated living space. Watch the deer amble down the mountainside and listen to the birds sing all day from the expansive decks. Notes: Because there are two places on one property, it is hard to describe dining arrangements. There is a table for 4 in the chalet and a table for 6 in the main house. The chalet sleeps two with the possibility of two more. The main house sleeps 8. This is a very beautiful place with antiques and artwork yet, it is warm and comforting. There is satellite Internet wireless access, DVD players and large LCD TVs in both homes. The kitchens come fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans and flatware.

Loved our stay...

rochmatt27 Rochester, NY
Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We recently stayed at this property and all we have to say is beautiful!

Claudia the owner was a phone call / email away and was very helpful with not only the property but our activity planning as well.

I don't understand the other person's review as this was not our experience at all. We had out of state family come in to meet us there and everything was wonderful.

Thank you soo much...

Nuthatch and Cuckoo's Nest

DocH Norman, Ok, USA
Review Submitted: April 19, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Stayed there in March, 2009. Thank god we didn't need the Cuckoo's Nest, because it smelled like an animal died in there. Could not remain in that property. The Nuthatch was comfortable, however, there are no closets for hanging clothes. No can opener, no hair dryer, the oven was dirty and when attempted to use, did not work properly and couldn't find any instructions on how to properly use the convection oven. Called the "care taker" and he didn't call back for several hours and then didn't know anything about the oven. Luckily, there was a nice grill outside that we were able to cook in. The beds were the best part, because they were comfortable. The location was great, because it was very secluded and the fireplace was very nice. I wouldn't stay at this place again.
Owner's Response: Other then one phone call asking about how to use the remote control for the tv, i heard nothing from this couple. There are 3 full closets, so it's baffling to hear that suddenly they dissapearred. That an animal could have gotten into the garage is always a possibility, it is up in .he wilderness! If i would have known how unhappy they were, i would have worked something out and found another place for them to stay at my expense.
Why didn't they let me know that they were having such a bad time? This is very sad to me for i want anyone staying at my places to have a wonderful time. I am always available to assist with any concerns.
There were guests who stayed at the cuckoo's nest this past weekend and they called twice to tell me what a fantastic time they had. No complaints of smells, etc.
However surprised i am by this review, i take all critisisms to heart. They felt what they did and that is all there is to it and i will see to all the concerns that they had while there and feel terribly sorry for their negative experience.
However, i believe in my places and love both the chalet and log home so much. Despite the feelings of these guests, i stand by the cuckoo and nuthatch with pride and joy for they are what the adirondacks are all about.
