Impressed! Best kept secret in the keys.

It's been a little over a year since we came down, but I'm still excited about our stay at Jerry's place on in the Keys. This place was so quite and so far away from the noise of all the tourists that constantly travel up and down the highway. It's in the back of a little known state park, so you don't get the boat traffic, but you get all of the scenery.
What's best is the owner and how he treats his guests. He's a great guy, who really goes above and beyond to make the place you stay feel like home. He's like an old friend you have known for years but haven't caught up with for a while who just wants to make sure everything is right.
Kayaks, life jackets, free netflix, free wireless and ipad usage, spices and oil in the kitchen (along with full cooking gear), and a newly renovated place with granite that certainly doesn't feel like "old Florida"- code for "hasn't been updated in 50 years).
You can also rent a boat across the street and dock it on the side of the property. He also feeds some pet snappers that you are not allowed to catch! :-)
We really feel like we lucked out with this place!
One note: It's miles to the nearest place to buy decent groceries at, pay attention as you drive down if you want to cook.
Thanks again, Jerry. We are planning on bringing the kids down one day.
Best,
Randy M
