We enjoy traveling but we always love coming home to Stinson Beach. Growing up here was so amazing and gave me a child hood full of discovery and imagination as well as an appreciation for nature which has carried through as an adult. Still building sand castles and hiking the woods. When you come to stay, we hope you will enjoy yourself like we have for many years.
After many years in the Santa Barbara, CA area, we decided to move back to my home town full time to slowdown and enjoy life a little more day to day. We lived here as our main residence while we renovated the main house and the cabins. Now we live full time in another great place to be closer to family and have decided to offer our guest cabin for vacation rentals. We love Stinson and want to share it with people and this is the best way we know how.
Nothing beats waking and falling asleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach. We love being so close and walking to town or popping back and forth to the beach during the day. Our property is the best of all worlds, private, central, and great ocean views in the warm banana belt of Stinson.
This is my fourth time staying at the cabins. I feel like it's my coastal getaway spot. Always lovely and peaceful and beautiful. I was visited by two deer each morning as I had my coffee on the patio. Magical.
I loved the view from the bed--the whole stay was worth that! The layout and terrain was a little challenging, however, and I nearly lost my footing on several occasions, not only carrying suitcases across the driveway, where it was steep, slippery, and VERY uneven, but also trying to get down from the elevated platform bed and having to go into a separate building in order to find the bathroom in the middle of the night. I would not recommend this property to people with health or mobility limitations!
Interesting layout but still a darling little place nestled perfectly into the hillside with parking and great walking access to the town and beach. The patio area was the living room space since we had ideal weather with lovely views and sounds of the ocean. The tenant at the main house was friendly and helpful as well. I would stay here again.
My husband basically grew up at Stinson Beach with his family owning a house in the Sea Drift Community. We spend a lot of time there throughout the year and wanted to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in Stinson. The family house was rented out so we found this little gem instead. It was perfectly quaint, romantic, private, and just what we were hoping for in a little weekend getaway. The cabin also inspired us to explore the possibility of owning a little spot like this ourselves in the Stinson area should one ever come to the market. It was sort of our dream spot for a simple weekend getaway nearby (we live in Oakland). We loved our stay and can't wait to come back again and again (hopefully for the winter Solstice weekend!). To the owners: if you are ever looking to sell or know of other similar properties in the area like this for sale, please let us know!
My husband and I love everything about this cabin. It is nicely laid out, immaculate, well stocked, super private and very cozy. The separate bathroom and kitchen work well. The bed is comfy. It is so close to the beach which is incredible. You can hear the waves from the cabin. I loved to get up and read my book outside and watch the fog burn off. The patio furniture was plentiful and super comfortable. There were huge butterflies fluttering about. What a little oasis. It was a nice weekend break from our busy and sometimes hectic lives. We felt like we could really unwind there. We can't wait to come back.
some reviews stated the house was dirty that was not the case it was clean but that was the only thing going for it. it was warm when we were there no a/c only half the windows had screens so we couldnt sleep with all them open and no fan. so after a night of sweating we wanted a shower only got short bursts of warm water other than that ice cold. note in bedroom said wifi and netflix available neither worked did have a nice colection of dvds to watch at night whe we couldnt sleep. we arived in the dark and it was next to impossibe to find the correct house in the dark with out a flshlight. as they warned us parking would be tricky but we got down there with the rental car ok except when we had to leave at 4 in the morning to fly home and a car blocked our way to back out so i had to pull out and ripped part of the car off. dont expect privacy someone came in while we were gone to hang a sign stating 3 minute showeres due to water shortage and people doing laundry right below the bathroom window.
