The premier swimming spot at Kapoho Beach Lots is only a few steps from your door at Hale Lokelani! You do not have to 'get used to' this water because it is heated by underground springs from Hawaii's majestic volcanoes! Enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and ancient fish ponds. This beautiful oceanfront house is built from many exotic hardwoods. Upstairs is very private and is ideal for a couple. It features a master bedroom with queen bed, bathroom, and a large open kitchen, living, and dining room with ocean views. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, blender, rice cooker, pots and pans, cutlery, dishes, and so on. In other words, it has everything you need (you bring the food!). If you need more bedrooms, you can also add on the 2 bedroom, 1 bath downstairs apartment with kitchenette and separate entrance for a special flat rate for a total of up to 6 overnight guests.

Pahoa, about 9 miles from Kapoho, offers plenty of options for groceries, supplies and fun shopping. Several markets, including a top-notch natural foods market and a 24 hour convenience store, a fish market, a farmer’s market, half-a-dozen good restaurants (two of which are *very* good), a live music club, video store, and an ever-changing array of colorful and offbeat shops selling hand-crafted souvenirs, tropical plants and flowers, original art and island apparel can be found in this bohemian village center. Hilo, county seat and the island’s largest city, is about 20 miles from Pahoa. A bastion of Hawaiian history and culture, Hilo is home to museums, botanical gardens and cultural centers. Each April Hilo hosts the Merrie Monarch Festival; often called the “Olympics of Hula.” Hilo also offers supermarkets and shops, golf courses, state of the art movie theaters, many fine restaurants and a laid back Aloha atmosphere that is treasured by locals and visitors alike.

This home was well equipped with cooking utensils, nice plush bathroom towels and the linens that were provided were also of good quality. The property was very clean, when I did have questions of the owners, responses were prompt and very detailed. There were a total of 6 of us who stayed in this home and space was adequate. We used some of the water shoes and snorkel equipment that was available. We thoroughly enjoyed this property and our time at Kapoho. We were visiting from Columbus, Ohio and were pleased to find that the Buckeyes football game was televised, plenty of channels to choose from for family entertainment.

Home was very enjoyable with the open floorplan, great views, incredible access into water, and guest book that made it very easy to find points of interest in the area. I would definately stay there again... was happy with how clean it was, and that it apparently had bug control... It's for sale.. so stay there while you can!

Great Time at a Great Location!

Very pleased with the overall experience. The house is beautiful, and the location was perfect. 4 sea turtles and plenty of fish living in the lagoon, visited us each day! This location, with tide pools everywhere, make snorkeling THE thing to do! Plenty of snorkel gear provided. The house was clean, with everything you need to have a great time, but the air conditioning is ONLY in the bedroom (the ad makes it sound like the whole home has air), and no hair dryer made it somewhat difficult for my wife (again, the ad indicated a hair dryer was provided). The home would benefit by adding an outdoor grill. Other than these minor setbacks, this vacation location, on the "other" side of the island is definitely worth experiencing. I plan to come back to this side, and likely to this house.

Restaurants in Pahoa are eclectic and fun, but the kitchen is well equipped if you want to stay in. Lava walks, Kapoho Tide Pools, Kehena Beach (a nude, black sand beach), Volcano viewing are all nearby and offer unique explorations. Highly recommended for a unique, fun, adventure filled vacation.

What a fantastic house. We have rented many houses before at different places but this one was by far the cleanest. KC does a wonderful job. The lagoon is a snorkelers paradise. We did try the flashlights at night and that was a great experience as well. We counted 14 turtles one morning alone. It is a very quiet and safe neighborhood. We had 7 family members staying in this house and it was very comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone as long as you can climb steps because there are steps to the main house.

Fantastic! The photos on the web site don't even begin to describe this paradise. The house was wonderful, fully equiped with everything you'll need. It's the backyard (or should I say back-lagoon) that will keep you coming back for all your Hawaiian vacations. We've been to every island and stayed at dozens of hotels and private rentals. All our future trips will be to Hale Lokelani. The water conditions couldn't of been better. Clear, full of sea life including multiple sea turtles (There wasn't a single swim where we didn't find 3-6 turtles). Snorkeling at night with flashlights is a not to be missed adventure. The turtles seem to be attracted to the lights and the hundreds of orange reflections from shrimp eyes will leave an impression.... No matter where we went on the island, we couldn't wait to get "home" and go snorkeling in the back. Don't miss the vacationland tide pools 10 minutes away. Highly recommended!
