ONE OF THE BEST SWIMMING SPOTS AT KAPOHO BEACH LOTS is only a few steps from your door at Hale Lokelani! A lovely, calm cove off Kapoho Bay awaits. Keep an eye out for the sea turtles -- they love it here!

ENJOY BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE OCEAN AND FISH PONDS. This beautiful oceanfront house is built from many exotic hardwoods. Upstairs is very private and is ideal for a couple. It features a master bedroom with queen bed, bath, and a large open great room with ocean views.

THE KITCHEN IS WELL EQUIPPED with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, toaster, blender, rice cooker, pots and pans, cutlery, dishes, and so on. In other words, it has everything you need except the food!

IF YOU NEED MORE SLEEPING SPACE, you can also add on the 2-bedroom, 1-bath downstairs apartment with kitchenette and separate entrance. The downstairs apartment is never rented as a separate unit, so your privacy is assured. **Please note, these additional rooms are accessed from an external staircase only!

WE ALSO PROVIDE LINENS, a telephone with answering machine, Monopoly game (Hawaii edition), washing machine and dryer, satellite TV with CD-quality commercial free music stations, and DVD player.

Year-round rate range is $155 - $275 per night depending upon party size and dates of visit. Cleaning fee ranges from $150 to $175, also depending upon party size.

Pahoa, about 9 miles from Kapoho, offers plenty of options for groceries, supplies and fun shopping. Several markets, including a top-notch natural foods market and a 24 hour convenience store, a fish market, a farmer’s market, half-a-dozen good restaurants (two of which are *very* good), a live music club, video store, and an ever-changing array of colorful and offbeat shops selling hand-crafted souvenirs, tropical plants and flowers, original art and island apparel can be found in this bohemian village center. Hilo, county seat and the island’s largest city, is about 20 miles from Pahoa. A bastion of Hawaiian history and culture, Hilo is home to museums, botanical gardens and cultural centers. Each April Hilo hosts the Merrie Monarch Festival; often called the “Olympics of Hula.” Hilo also offers supermarkets and shops, golf courses, state of the art movie theaters, many fine restaurants and a laid back Aloha atmosphere that is treasured by locals and visitors alike.

We have been to Kapoho on numerous occasions and this was the best accommodation we have ever had. We could get up in the morning, walk down straight into the tidal pools and have a swim with the turtles even before coffee!! The property is ideally situated and very clean. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next visit to the Island but then we would bring our grandchildren along as the swimming is so safe and easily accessible, and swimming with the turtles would be a fantastic experience for them.

This was our second time at Hale Lokelani in less than a year. The last time was in Sept. and we saw a lot more turtles, but we had a wonderful time anyway. One of the highlights of the trip was snorkeling at night. I would highly recommend getting some underwater flashlights and give it a try. The second highlight was taking a helicopter ride to see the volcano. Seeing the lava flowing into the ocean was spectacular. We went with Blue Hawaii Helicopter Tours and they gave us a good trip.
The house could use some updating. We found the blender in pieces and the can opener would hardly work. But overall, I love this house.

We found the Kapoho Beach Lots to be more isolated than we liked.
The house was clean but worn. Couches were uncomfortable.
Turtles in the tide pools were the highlight.
