Laulea means peaceful and happy in the Hawaiian language. These are the qualities I attribute to this charming, third floor, and non-smoking apartment with panoramic view from kitchen, living room and balcony. The tasteful decor with Hawaiian themes and tile floors throughout all rooms create a pleasant and warm-hearted home. You can enjoy the incredible view of the protected bay and neighboring islands all year round and during winter season you can watch whales from the spacious balcony. People who have stayed here have come back over and over again. Maalaea is central to the island's many attractions. 25 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes to Lahaina, Kahului and the North Shore with it's many windsurfing locations. Shopping is about 20 minutes by car and restaurants are in 5 minutes walking distance. 5 minutes walk in one direction brings you to Maalaea's yacht harbor with a small shopping mall, restaurants and the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium).

5 minutes walk the other direction will bring you to a 2 mile long sandy beach. Comments from previous guests: We have enjoyed our two week stay in your lovely suite immensely. The view has provided endless hours of entertainment watching all the whale activity and the daily parade of turtles passing us by. We hope to return next year for a longer stay. Mahalo, R. and P. The condo was wonderful! The view, both day and night was wonderful as well. The lights in 'Up Country', and across the bay, gave sparkle that was a close second only to the stars above. So much to do and see on this beautiful island but the simple things are still the best - gorgeous sunrises, sounds of the surf, long walks on the beach, whale watching from the lanai, warm golden days, star-studded nights, and even a full moon shimmering all the way across Maalea Bay. We loved staying here. The view from the lanai is incredible. Whales entertained us every day. Great location-right in the middle of the island. Quiet location. Can't wait to visit again. Alex & Pat

Nice quiet place to stay

My wife and I stayed here for a week in October. It has a good central location and everything you need right in the room. The condo was reasonably clean and well-kept and we liked the ocean view off the patio. Way better than staying at some $500/night hotel! The owner was very helpful and friendly and we didn't have any problems while we were there. We definitely drove everywhere we went. This was a really quiet complex. would stay here again for sure.

Make no mistake, this is not a resort. It is an inexpensive way to enjoy all Maui has to offer without the huge hotel bill. The unit is located on a lightly traveled road within walking distance of one of the best beaches on the island with shopping and restaurants even closer. The location is central to all the activities on Maui. The sunrise is spectacular and the crashing surf will lull you to sleep at night. The building seemed to be adult occupied and I would not suggest it for children that have a need to be entertained. Quiet, peaceful, ocean view, very private lanai, central location. What more can you ask for in a vacation?
