Tucked away in the middle of the Chequamegon National Forest is the delightful community of Clam Lake. Majestic pines, cluster birch, and a quiet lake provide the backdrop for our beautiful hand-hewn log home. This is a truly unique home and property! Our home is situated on a 16 acre pennisula, surrounded by water on delightful Beaver Lake, a small refuge for waterfowl and wildlife. There is only one other property on the lake so privacy is yours. Rustic but not primitive, this home has five bedrooms (including a loft), and three bathrooms. It comfortably sleeps ten. The main floor has a large, well-equipped professional kitchen with Viking stainless dishwasher, range, and refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is stocked with enough cookware, appliances and utensils for even the most discrimating gourmet cook. A sunny eating area with its handmade rustic pine plank table seats ten or more, and looks out over the deck and lake beyond.
The great room has a large fieldstone fireplace, a large over-stuffed leather sofa and cable TV with wireless high speed internet and a DVD player. Windows facing the lake extend two stories for fabulous views of the lake and surrounding woods. Old Hickory and antique furniture is inter-mixed with comfortable seating throughout the first floor. Off of the great room is a sunny all season porch facing the lake with two story windows on three sides. It is truly a spectacular room and a favorite of our guests. The main floor has 2 charming bedrooms, one with a bunk bed, and the other a double. Both rooms are furnished with handmade log furniture and wool throw rugs. Out the back door is a deck, which is a nice spot for viewing the lake while sipping morning coffee or an evening drink. Seating is provided on a large log bench or dining table with an umbrella.
Upstairs there is a master suite loft with a king bed, en suite bath with a double shower, leather chairs and a private deck. A wall of windows provide memorable views across the lake yearround. The loft area is a treat in itself. Downstairs there are two knotty pine bedrooms warmly decorated with a Northwoods theme and handmade beds. They share a newly finished full bathroom. The downstairs is also home to our large game room with a pool table, game table, and pinball machine. We also have a large collection of children's toys and games. The laundry area is in the basement as well.
The natural beauty of the woods can be enjoyed inside or out. A large stone firepit complete with seating overlooks the wetlands and sunsets across the lake. The lake can be enjoyed by non-motorized watercraft only. A canoe and paddle boat are provided. A large wetland at the opposite end of the lake is a summer breeding ground for many waterfowl including wood ducks, sandhill cranes, Canada geese and even bald eagles. The entire house is surrounded by extensive gardens that bloom into fall. Several trails are cut through the property for a short walk or simply walk down to the forest road for a quiet stroll through the woods. Across the lake are snowmobile and ATV trails that hooks up to literally hundreds of miles of trails through the wilderness. The surrounding area is filled with year-round outdoor activities. At the end of the day, you can return to the peace and solitude of Beaver Lake... or simply never leave!
The pictures and description do not even come close to doing this cabin justice. It is gorgeously located on a peninsula which was great to fish around in the paddleboat and canoe. I came up with group of guys for fishing and golfing and it was absolutely perfect. There is a full game closet, the kitchen was impeccable, and plenty of lawn space for horsing around. The view from the large fire pit at night was to die for. The place was truly ideal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The pictures on the brochure don't even come close to the beauty and seclusion of this property. I highly recommend choosing the loft bedroom for the view in the am and pm. The property is first class in every detail. One member of our fishing group has booked this home for his family reunion. If you enjoy pure luxury while exploring true north woods serenity, this is the place for you and your family.
Can't wait for next years fishing trip here.
Located conviently just outside of Clam Lake, although once on the property, you would never know it! Situated on a peninsula like piece of land so that you can see the water from most anywhere in the Cabin (if you can call this place a cabin). Spectacular Log Home with all everything you need to have a great week away from it all. Fishing is incredible on the local lakes. When you have a place like this to stay, why would you go anywhere else. Thanks for a great week, we look forward to returning next year!
Outstanding property. You can hardly call this a cabin with the gourmet kitchen and first class accomodations. Top notch all the way. The setting is amazing with the cabin on a point of a small lake that is very private. Great crappie fishing right from the shore.
2 class "A" musky lakes within 2 miles. 6 of the 8 guys on the trip caught musky the week we were there. We had myself, 2 brothers, Dad, 2 uncles, Brother-in-law and family friend for the week and can't wait to go back.
We saw elk, deer, turkey almost every day. If you love the outdoors this place is hard to beat.
Absolutely beautiful, very modern and large log cabin! Situated on very quiet, private and serene acreage. A welcome break from hectic city life! Entire cabin is very roomy, comfortable, well equipped and well maintained. We were able to snowmobile across the lake and directly access literally hundreds of miles of pristine snowmobile trails! We definitely want to repeat this trip again next year!
