This penthouse Condo located in historic brownstone in the NW quadrant of Washington DC, Columbia Heights neighborhood known for its Victorian architecture, offers spacious 1800 square feet of living space, three large bedrooms, three full bathrooms and half bath on the first floor.

The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floor. This is a historic building and and to get in to historic building you have to climb flight of stairs to get in. Once you enter the building there is another flight of stairs to get to the living and dining room and another flight of stairs to get to the bedrooms.

Gracious living-dining area for charming family meals and entertaining with nicely equipped kitchen. Hardwood white oak floors cover the entire unit and complement our modern décor. Our living room offers spacious seating as well as pull up sofa for additional sleeping area. Free Wireless/Wired DSL.

We are located just one block to Columbia Heights Metro (green and yellow line), the Tivoli Theater, DC USA shopping center, the Heights restaurant, Giant grocery store, Sticky Fingers vegan bakery and cafe and all the dinning and shopping located around the Tivoli square.

Columbia Heights borders the neighborhoods of DuPont Circle, Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant and U Street corridor, DC's most vibrant centers celebrated for its history where the charmingly traditional meets the latest in urban planning.

Rich in history, Columbia Heights stands today as a dynamically evolving neighborhood dotted with new venues for performing arts and zesty Latin eateries. There are coffee shops, grocery stores, department stores all within walking distance. Our neighborhood is located just up from DuPont Circle, right up on the Hill leading down to the White House and the National Mall. Getting to and from the National Mall is easy by Metro which is located just a block from the property, by walking (about 2.5 miles) or by cab.

We are family owned and operated. From the left meet Kate, Jarek (sister and brother) and our mom Dana.

We have lived in Washington for over ten years and love this cosmopolitan city where people get up every morning and get to work on changing the world. The most powerful people in DC can alter the course of history and try to make the world a better place. It's a city where philosophical debate and advocacy of issues beyond one's own family or pocketbook rule the day; a city where what's going on in one's head is far more important than what one is wearing; a city where people come from all over the world to experience democracy and learn the principles of our free society.

We get visitors from all over the country and the world. Some come for one time visit with their family, others keep coming back number of times a year as we host many repeat guests related to the federal government, foreign embassies and the US State Department. We take great pride in having our unit very clean (our mom cleans it, so you know it’s spotless), conveniently located within walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and Metro.

Three teens!

The house was perfect for three teens and three adults (one on sofa bed). It was clean and we loved having a fully stocked kitchen and a grocer within walking distance. We did get a parking ticket the first morning because of the street sweeper - our fault. Also, we enjoyed using the Uber Taxi service the owner told us about - it was MUCH better than taking the Metro - Thanks!

Nice Property - Convenient to Metro/Stores/Restaurants

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was clean and quiet. We had one large family dinner there (8 people) and did find that some of the cookware was set up for smaller groups or dishes, but it wasn't a big thing.

The owners were responsive when we had a problem with the master bath shower valve (wouldn't turn off). My Dad got the valve to turn off before a plumber's visit was needed.

The neighborhood seemed safe although we would emphasize not to leave anything at all in any vehicle as there was some fresh car glass right on the stretch in front of this property. The vibe around was cool; people were always out walking, a very mixed crowd but no problems. The Metro stop is like 1.5 blocks away and was quite clean. We got a 1 week pass for each of us and believe we got our value from it.

Panera's bakery and Acre 121 (across from Panera's) provided some nice baked goods and BBQ respectively. I went to check out WSC for a quick workout but they applied a lot of pressure to take the full-on sales tour. After declining like 4 times they finally heard me and let me try the place out, but it was quite crowded (it was rush hour though).

We agree that we would go back to this property if we are in town again. Ideal for up to 3 couples.

In Town for the Inauguration

I started planning my trip well before the election and the homeowners were very accommodating in allowing me to reserve the condo, with the condition that if the election didn't go my way, we could cancel with a full refund. All the information on the condo was accurate, the homeowners provided great instructions leading up to our trip. The condo is fantastic!! Clean and well appointed. We really felt like we were at home. Columbia Heights was a perfect distance from all the activity and everything we needed (grocery store, great restaurants, and just blocks from the Metro) was in walking distance. There are a lot of stairs to climb which normally wouldn't be an issue but one of my friends is about to have knee surgery and she's in a brace. We were able to accommodate her, but it's something I'll know to consider next time. Overall, I can't wait to plan another trip to DC and stay in Columbia Heights at this condo. It's really comfortable and spacious. Thank you!!

Great apartment

We stayed here with a family of 5 (children 9, 13 and 15) over Christmas 2012. The apartment is very nicely fitted out and well equipped. Our children couldn't believe their eyes when they walked in, having stayed in a pretty tired hotel in New York just prior. The kitchen was stylish and functional and served us well. Having our own washer and dryer was also invaluable. The living area and bedrooms were comfortable and the apartment was very clean.

The location is perfect for people like us wanting a base to look around DC without a car. The Metro station is 5 minutes walk and we found that we could get anywhere we wanted easily from there. There is also good access to shops, including a large supermarket and Target in the same vicinity, along with a number of restaurants. The neighbourhood is quite a pleasant one, with many nice old buildings.

The only real thing to be aware of with this apartment is that one bedroon is separated from the hallway/landing with a curtain, not a wall. We did not find this a problem and the room itself was very nice, but light sleepers should be aware.

Overall we would recommend this apartment highly to anyone in a similar situation.

Charming home away from home

This great little place in the center of a vibrant, revitalized area of DC was perfect for our group of 5 grandmother trip to the nation's capital. Every part of the home was a great fit for us, from the well-stocked kitchen to the comfortable gathering area (in the first photo) to the very comfortable beds. Every amenity has been covered. Would not recommend, however, for people who don't do well with stairs. The location was excellent, close to metro and restaurants and grocery store. I was concerned about having to find parking every evening, but that was not too bad. We never had to park more than two blocks away.
