Soufriere Villa Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, Sleeps 9 ,spacious house, separate dining room, patio

Mango Point is nestled on a lush tropical hillside facing the Caribbean Sea and the famous Pitons: twin titanic peaks, soaring to a height of

Red roofs, thick stone island walls and graceful archways set the tone for a colonial house.

At 300 feet above sea level, constant breezes cool the house. It has 4500 square feet under cathedral ceilings graced by hand carved beams and ceiling fans.

Separate wings for sleeping, dining, cooking and leisure are wrapped around a courtyard shaded by fragrant jasmine vines.

Entering the house into the living room you are irresistibly attracted by the large arched doors framed by bougainvilleas, few steps down, the swimming pool follows the line of the cliff, the view is breathtaking and magnificent as it sweeps across the Soufriere Bay, sea, and mountains.

Rental fee includes an excellent chef and an housekeeper daily services. The staff will shop for the guests provided the cost is given by the guests for each shopping trip.

Just off the living area, five steps down suspended at the edge of the hillside, a large infinity swimming pool faces the majestic Pitons. Large decks with sun chairs are sheltered by a cabana.

The dining room and living room are really comfortable and elegant. Imported Ralph Lauren furniture includes sofas, large rugs, toile curtains, art, and a hammock. Candlelight or al fresco dining can be arranged.

The sleeping area has more a West Indian flair with four poster beds and gauze netting, contributing to a romantic feeling.

Two of the master bedrooms have colonial king size mahogany beds. A few steps down in the garden is the third master suite, Creole-style, with a queen size, ironwork four poster bed. This room enjoys magnificent views from its deck. All oversized, these bedrooms have large closets, a safety box, ceiling fans, and quality linen. A cot bed is also available in one of the master bedrooms. Spacious bathrooms en suite have three walls, with showers and separate toilets.

The fourth bedroom with twin beds and bathroom can accommodate two more.

The large kitchen is Mexican tiled and is well-equipped with a microwave, two fridges, one freezer, a toaster, blender, barbecue grill, and an adjacent laundry room with a washing machine.

Our dedicated staff really adds to the pleasure of staying at Mango Point. Pamela our housekeeper is an excellent cook and will surprise you, as she knows how to mix drinks. Felicia, the housemaid keeps the house orderly and does the house laundry. Both are warm and reliable persons and will do their best to make your stay a memorable one.

Much care has gone into quality, comfort, art, and details which add to the charm and pleasure of your stay at Mango Point and makes it so special to our returning guests.

A VCR, stereo, books, tapes, and CDs are available during your stay.

Included in the rates are the daily services of an excellent cook, a maid and a gardener. Staff is not optional.

Baby sitter and massage services are available upon request.

St. Lucia is a beautiful island. Mango Point if a wonderful place to stay to enjoy this island. The staff is friendly and pampered us during our stay. The house itself is charming and very well situated, overlooking the Pitons, the bay and the town of Soufriere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in February, 2007 and are going back in '08.

Million Dollar Views!

Our group, four couples (ages 57-65), arrived in St. Lucia the first week in February. We took Francine's advice & had a driver pick us up at the airport & we were happy we did! The roads off the main road are not in good shape & are very winding & in many areas, extremely steep. If this is your first trip to Mango Point, I would highly recommend that you hire a driver to pick you up at the airport & take you to the house. We did rent 2 cars for the week & they were delivered to the house the next day & they came back & picked them up the day we left. It was very scary driving around St. Lucia so we did not wander too far from Mango Point.

The house is rustic but lovely. Be aware that one of the bedrooms & baths is a cottage detached from the house so you will need to walk down steps to get to it & it can be tricky at night. It overlooks the water & is wonderfully charming. The master bedroom/bath was very comfortable & large & the bedroom/bath adjacent to it was large & comfortable. However, the 4th bedroom was not pleasant at all. It is located behind the kitchen/laundry room & extremely small with twin beds (which I was told were not comfortable). The second night the staff put them together to make one bed which was better but still, not ideal. So, I would say that Mango Point is best suited for 3 couples, not 4. It was just an uncomfortable feeling to make one couple have the "bad" bedroom & bath. My guess is that when the house was built this room was designed as the "maid's quarters".

The best part about Mango Point is the view. The pool is lovely, the sunsets magnificient, & the flowers and hummingbirds bountiful. Emmanuel did a fabulous job of keeping the pool clean & tending to all the vegetation. Pamela is a wonderful cook and extremely pleasant. Felicia & Deane did a great job of keeping the house clean & refreshing the sheets & towels. It was a real treat to have a staff with the house.

A few general comments: to get to the beach, you must walk down a VERY steep hill to Anse Chasanet (resort). Walking back can be very difficult if you are not fit. The sand is black so if you are expecting long, white, sandy beaches - this is not the place to be. You can rent chairs from the resort ($15/day) & you are only allowed to be on the small portion of the beach. Members of our group enjoyed snorkeling directly off this beach. The biggest negative about St. Lucia was the feeling of not being "safe". We had to lock the gates & bolt the doors.

Amazing Vacation!!

I just returned from Mango point, at which we stayed for a week. One word…Paradise. The House is beautiful, open and very well kept. The selling point….the views are to die for! The open space gives you a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pitons and the sounding ocean. The pool is perfectly situated in the back, and gives a feeling of ecstasy when gazing into the gorgeous landscape. The bedrooms are large, clean and the beds are very comfortable. The living room is spacious and a perfect place to sip wine and enjoy a beautiful sunset. The beach is a short 10 minutes away and well worth it!
Francine, the owner, was extremely helpful and easy to book through. She walked us through the entire process and was very professional. She provided us with food and drink options before our arrival. By the time we arrived, all the food and drinks were available for us. There are two staff helpers that will prepare you dinner and breakfast (delicious!) and clean the house on a daily basis. Francine also provided us with transportation to and from the airport. The drivers were very friendly and used them during our entire stay. The Staff also recommended day excursions such as hiking through the Pitons, snorkeling and shopping at the local town market.
In all, our stay was amazing and we cannot wait to return.
Owner's Response: What can I say Kasia, to thank you to have taken the time to send this wonderful review about Mango Point and our dedicated staff.
Come back soon!

Indescribably gorgeous. Photos and descriptions don't do it justice. Excellent staff.
Personal on-call chauffer "Indy". Pamela was an excellent cook. Meals were all made to order. Tons of activities - climbing the Gros Piton, hiking into the rainforest to a breathing waterfall, snorkeling, jet skiing, shopping in local craft markets. We give Mango Point our very highest recommendation.
Owner's Response: Thank you Martin to take the time to post such a glowing review and all of us at the house are pleased that your family had a relaxing holiday, enjoyed the views, staff and whole experience and would recommend Mango Point. Francine

Enchantment!

Gorgeous is right! And private, spacious, fantastic! This house is absolutely wonderful! The pictures are nice, but the house is so much more. We just returned from staying a week, and it was heavenly. So spacious and open, with views beyond description from every room. Really-take a shower while gazing at the Caribbean Sea. The house was built years ago, and since then the flowers and trees seem to have grown the house into the side of the mountain. The stone walls of the house are about 18 inches thick, with a light white plastering on the inside which still shows the stone texture, the ceilings are high and made of wood, the floors are tile from Barbados.

The outside is brought in by opening the huge wooden doors to the terraces and voila! The ocean and the Pitons and the incredible flowers! The swimming pool is on its few steps down through bougainvilleas galore. More than half the pool area is open to the sea and Pitons view. One end has a covered area providing shade and comfy padded loungers. The flowers-and the humming birds!- just go on and on.

And then there's the food! Two wonderful women came in from about 9-8 daily, very non intrusive, keeping everything clean, beds made, towels re-stocked, etc, and cooking. Yes, cooking! We had most of our meals at the house and they were all delicious! We communicated before arriving about the food, and paid there for the supplies that were purchased for us. We could have shopped ourselves as well, but ended up not needing to. Everything was fresh and local, fabulous salads, soups, quiche, casseroles and fresh squeezed juices: orange, grapefruit, passion fruit!

Oh, and we had an incredible massage therapist to come to the house! The owner is on the property adjacent to the house- she is so gracious, friendly, and welcoming. She provided the initial tour of the house, and was available for information sharing, and never intrusive. She is also the talented artist responsible for many of the beautiful paintings throughout the house.

The house is located about ten minutes to town via a steep and challenging road- you do need four wheel drive. Also about ten minutes walk downhill from Anse Chastanet palm lined beach.
Owner's Response: Dear Jacques,I would like to thank you to take the time to post this kind review of Maango Point, our staff and your vacation
Your photos are beautiful and will be posted on our website. Very best wishes Jacques.
