Great Costa Rica Vacation

My wife and I and our 2 children, ages 4 and 1, stayed at Casa Manana with our 2 friends and their 2 children from 06-01-09 to 06/08/09. We had a wonderful time!
First of all, getting the house rented was great, Dirk and Lisa were very friendly and reliable, always retuning any email or phone call and answering all of our questions.
As for the house, it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Great location for one thing, and the floor plan is nice and open, which worked out great with the kids! The pool is amazing, we spent a lot of our time in the pool and out on the patio...great for relaxing!! The house was very clean, the staff great, and took care of all of our needs.
While we stayed at Casa Manana we did several activites and ate at some great places in and near Hermosa. First of all some of the activites included, ziplining at the Congo Trail. Very worth it, but make sure you pay the extra 5 bucks to go in with the white faced and spyder monkeys...probably the neatest experience we had while there. We also enjoyed the beach in Hermosa, the water is clear and calm, overall just really enjoyable. We also drove to nearby Coco where we rented a boat that took us snorkling which was also very fun, we got to see lots of fish and a couple of white spotted rays! Also in Coco we had fun going to the shops and getting gifts to take home. One day we drove to Tamarendo where we took surf lessons and also did some shopping. The rest of our time was just spent relaxing around the house and enjoying it!
As for places to eat, we really loved eating at Ginger's in Hermosa, a little expensive, but well worth it! The Upper Deck sports bar had great buffalo wings, but the pizza was not very good. We did a lot of eating just at the house which was a huge plus, as it can get expensive eating out all the time, so it was nice to get together and make a meal at the house and relax and watch the sunset next to the beautiful view of the ocean!!
I would recomment this property to anyone...it exceeded all of our expectations!! Again, I can't say enough about Dirk and Lisa who were just wonderful, and we are so greatful that they shared their home with us!! Thanks so much, we had such a great time!!!

Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments! We're so glad you guys had a good trip and enjoyed our home and our little slice of paradise. From the looks of things, you pretty well did it all. Lisa and the kids and I are heading down in a couple of weeks, can't wait... We'll take your recommendation and try the zipline at the Congo Trail. We've always gone over to Witches Rock up by the Four Seasons, but I'm sure the boys will be anxious to try a new canopy tour.
