Vacation in 'Old Hawaii' away from tourist crowds at Kapoho Joe's Beach House. Fully furnished home with a large 'great room', perfect for a family vacation! You will enjoy lounging on the 40 foot ocean view deck complete with a gas barbeque, patio table and comfortable chairs. The living room has high wood vaulted ceilings and provides satellite TV and wireless DSL internet , board games, books, magazines and DVD movies. The Master bedroom (The Palm Room) has a queen bed and it's own bathroom with tub/shower. The 2nd bedroom (The Quilt Room) provides a comfortable double bed and the 3rd bedroom (The Surf Room) is decorated in a fun surfing motif and has a queen bed. Each room has ceiling fans to cool the air. 250+ thread count linens and spa bath robes are provided for your comfort. There's even a wine cooler in the large kitchen with gas stove top and electric oven, fully equipped for large meals. Washer/dryer in laundry room. Plus, 2 bicycles for cruising and a kayak.

This rural area offers scenic beauty that most tourists miss. Kapoho Beaches is a gated community located on a turquoise -blue private bay about 9 miles from quaint, old fashioned Pahoa town. Unique Italian, mexican and Thai restaurants along with art galleries and shops are there. You can snorkel and swim in the thermally heated waters of Champagne Pond, Ahualanui Park or the marine preserve tide pools (1 mile), or surf the waters of Pohoiki Bay and Isaac Hale Park.(5 mi). We're just about 29 miles to Volcano National Park which makes a great afternoon trip to see the volcanic craters, museum and a huge lava tube that you can walk through. Or take the scenic Kalapana highway along the coast to the end of the road where lava covered the small town of Kalapana. At night view the clear star studded sky from the deck or hike to see the unforgettable lava flowing from Kilauea volcano to the sea (20 miles). Visit the botanical gardens, orchid farms or see breathtaking waterfalls

Ceiling fans in every room cool the air. This area is reported by scientists to have the freshest air in the United States, so breathe deeply! Listen to the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. Wake up to a beautiful Hawaiian sunrise through the trees. Walk only about 90 steps to the waters edge for a dip in the bay. We're only 9 miles to the quaint town of Pahoa with grocery stores, restaurants, banks, post office and stores are available. Don't miss the large Makuu Farmer's Market on Sundays for local fruits and vegetables and Hawaiian made crafts. Travel the famous 'red road' to Ahalanui Park, a few miles down the road, Pohoiki Bay where local fishermen launch their boats and surfers ride the waves. Visit black sand beaches or go 'au naturel' on Kehena Beach.

Local Sights and attractions: The lava flow viewing site is only about a 20 minute drive away. See the many waterfalls this side of Hawaii has to offer. Beautiful getaway spot!

My husband and I stayed here over Easter Break with our 2 children ages 4 adn 6. We had a wonderful time at your house! Loved swimming in champagne pond and being such a short drive to the Volcano National Park, beaches and waterfalls. Your house is well equipped and in a great location. Thank you for your hospitality!

Hello Joanie, ...it was obvious that you have spent a lot of time, effort and money improving the house. The tile is gorgeous! The linens are all nice. Especially the bed pillows. I really slept better with the nice pillows. We couldn't help but notice the refrigerator is new. ...It was a nice getaway. - Jan

Hi Joanie: Your place is very nice and you have decorated it nice too. WE loved sitting out on the balcony and seeing and hearing the ocean. The kitchen was well equipped too. We went all over and went snorkeling at Champagne Pond and saw a lot of pretty fish. Also went to Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls and the pretty park in Hilo. It is very pretty on your side of the island.
