Our single story house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is just one block north of popular Highway 192 in St. Cloud, which takes you right to the entrance of Disney World, or you can take the Osceola Parkway and be there within 45 minutes from the time you leave the house. From Osceola Parkway, Universal Studios and the other theme parks are accessible. The location of the house is what makes people want to return again and again. The house has the advantage of a quiet country area yet is close to all services. The Florida room leads out to a sundeck, with steps down to the wooden dock - great for fishing on the canal which leads out to Lake Runnymede and East Lake Tohopekaliga. The 30x15 solar-heated swimming pool can be entered by way of the sundeck or through sliding glass doors from the dining room. The wooden dock is nice for fishing, sunbathing and watching the wild life. Bird watching is especially good. A gas barbecue grill is located on the patio.
The house offers a full kitchen with full size appliances, a microwave, Zephyrhills water cooler, 1 color TV, a laundry room with full size washer and dryer plus all the housewares you may need. There is central air and heating, The Master Bedroom has a California king-size bed. And in the second bedroom there is a queen-size bed and a trundle bed.
Within 10 minutes from the house, on Highway 192, is a Wal-Mart Supercenter, restaurants, supermarkets, stores, garages and anything else that you might need. A twin movie theater is located on 10th Street. A flea market is only 15 minutes from the house on 192. Within 35 minutes you can be at the Mall at Millenia or The Florida Mall by way of the Turnpike.
Within 5 minutes from the house are tennis courts and a handball court which you may use at no charge. Within 15 minutes there are two PGA rated golf courses.
Orlando International Airport is only 30 minutes from the house.
In about an hour's drive, you can reach Florida's beaches, or you can go to the NASA Kennedy Space Center for tours. You can actually drive on Daytona Beach, the most famous beach in the world. The Silver Spurs Arena, located in Kissimmee, hosts two major rodeos a year. The Houston Astros do their Spring Training within 20 minutes of the house. The Orlando Convention Center and the Gaylord Palms, with its convention center, beautiful grounds, bars and restaurants, are both about 45 minutes away. Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho) is considered one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country. For your daily exercise, there is a walkway on Lake Toho at Lakeshore Drive.
When you need a rest, it's nice to discover that the old Florida is still there, with many natural places of interest to visit, lakes to fish and wildlife to see; all under the Florida sun.
We look forward to having you come and stay in 'Terrebethia'; that's the name our children gave to the area where the house is located.
Clean, peaceful, quiet. At the end of the street set on a canal. The loudest noise is the birds. Beautiful decks and great swimming pool. Very relaxing atmosphere, pool for the Mrs., fishing for the Mr. is just 50' out the back door. Air conditioning for those who soak up too much sun. I don't think there is anything you could ask for that is not there. Bring your own clothes and toothbrush and you are set for a great vacation.
This was a very nice house. The house was very clean and had everything you needed.
The managers were some of the nicest people we have ever met. Fishing off the dock was a lot of fun. Even if you don't fish, just sitting there and enjoying nature and the scenery was amazing. I highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to just relax, fish or see the beautiful birds and nature.
Our family had such a lovely time at this vacation home. The neighborhood was quiet and away from the busy cities but close enough to everything where is was a 10-30 minute drive to where you needed to go depending on what you desired. The home was beautiful, with more accomidations than you could ask for. It was too cool to use the pool but the pool was well kept. We spent a lot of time relaxing out on the decks and attempting to catch those Floridian bass, which seem to be harder to catch than Minnesotan bass! Our family really enjoyed the company of Marvin and Bertha, who were the owners parents. They were extremely helpful, kind, accomidating and entertaining. I think it is safe to say they were the highlight of our trip! We can't express enough how great of a time we had and how great Marvin and Bertha were. We would recommend this place to anyone seeking a quiet vacation spot. We give it a two thumbs up!
This was a very well appointed home in a great area. Very close for us to family that we were visiting. Disney was 30 minutes away and easy to get back and forth. We loved that the manager was easy to reach and help assist with a couple of things. The house had everything we needed to help make Thanksgiving dinner. The kitchen and baths were well stocked. Laundry on site was a big help as well. Only wish it would have been warmer to enjoy the pool. We even had a family birthday party for my 6 year old and played games outside. It was a great house to enjoy for a small family a week in Orlando area.
This house is an absolute gem. Peacefully located in a quiet cul-de-sac in the real Florida. It is very clean, well equipped (with a really comfy king sized bed), a huge fridge / freezer and plenty of fluffy towels. Marvin and Bertha are there if you have any questions and will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. It is 10 years since we last stayed here and it was so good to be back. It is an easy short drive from Orlando International Airport and we found it such a convenient place to stay to get to all of the main attractions. We found that there is no need to go far every day as the pool and surroundings are perfect to relax in. Make sure that you take the time to enjoy a coffee or lunch on the deck and watch the terrapins in the creek. Marvin will show you the wildlife on the lake - just don't forget your camera.
We spent five days in Dec., '13. The house is really nice, much nicer than it seems in pictures. It has everything you need. Bertha, Marvin and their grandson Chris are so friendly and helpful. My husband loved the fishing. Would highly recommend this place.
Saint Cloud's Lakefront is very enjoyable with a paved walkway to take walks on or exercise, a small beach to relax on or play volleyball, a playground for children, a marina with boats, and many birds to view. Peghorn Park is another park in Saint Cloud that has a short nature trail with many beautiful flowers, butterflies during the summer, and many birds singing in the trees. Downtown Saint Cloud has a historic antique district with several shops and eateries to explore. There are a few seasonal community events such as a 4th of July Celebration, a Christmas Parade, as well as a Tree Lighting Ceremony. Within an hour's drive are Central Florida's main attractions such as Disney World, Sea World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios, LEGOLAND, Gatorworld, water parks, and more. Locally there is also the Melbourne Zoo located near the East Coast beaches, the downtown area of Celebration which was developed by Disney, downtown Winter Park and Mount Dora both of which have many wonderful specialty and retail shops to explore. There is also Bok Tower Gardens which is a beautiful historic site located approximately an hour and 15 minutes south of St Cloud. And located just outside of Saint Cloud is the newly opened Wild Florida wildlife park with airboat rides to explore our waterways.
