Huddleston Vacation Rental house

What a great place to stay for an active family. Spent lots of time on the water - we have a boat that we tied to the floater here. Store nearby was actually close enough to walk to and although it is small has all necessities. The house was spotless when we arrived. Everyday we walked our dog down the street - all the neighbors are very nice, I believe this is the only rental around.
The drive from Raleigh was 2 hours 30 min.
There is a decent hill to walk from the water to the house - but we looked at it as exercise to offset our eating :)

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation away from the hussle and bussle of London, England. This spacious home and quiet cove provided us the R&R and privacy we were looking for. We made good use of the well equipped games rooms, enjoyed fishing from the dock and boat.....we caught fish every day we went out (Secret Cove is 5 minutes by boat to the dam which is one of the best locations for stripper and bass fishing), and relaxed on the decks which had comfortable and abundant furniture. The home is clean, well maintained and offers great entertainment both in the games rooms and tv/board game room. We especially enjoyed the steam shower and hot tub. We visited the State Park, only a few minutes from the house, which has a beach area and playground. There are boat rentals close by and several good restaurants within 5-25 minutes drive. The people we met in SML were extremely warm and friendly. The owners provided excellent customer service. We thought we had a minor problem with the home and when we called the owners they rectified it immediately. The owners also responded quickly and courteously to all the questions we had about the home prior to our arrival which made our pre-travel plans a lot easier. We had a great time and will definately return. Thanks Smith family for facilitating a great vacation.
