Beautiful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5
From the moment that we drove down the driveway to the home, I knew that we were in for a real treat. As we entered in the front door, there was a water fountain, and just the sound of the welcoming water was awesome, I really liked that. The home was beautifully decorated, I just love what the decorator did with the grand-father clock. Cool!!!
The most awesome bathroom I've been in for a long time, the jetted tub, and the double headed shower were a plus. That bathroom rocked!
During our week's stay in the home, we cooked, cleaned and just relaxed. Our children loved going out on the lanai to look at the view, we had such a wonderful view of the ocean.
The home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, where people just kept to themselves.
The grounds were well kept and just emaculate. I really enjoyed the mango tree.
I love that the wash room is kept outside.
I am also grateful that the owners had beach chairs for us to use at the beach, this is a must if you plan on going to the beach day after day with 3 busy children.
Our family travels to Hawaii about every 2 years, and we will definately call the owners and rent this home again!
Also, I am so glad that the turn off for the neighborhood was just right of the 11, very easy to find and to get to.
2 thumbs up. or should I just give the Shaka sign and say ALOHA!!!!

Big Island Summer Vacation

  • 4 of 5
House is gorgeous with an amazing view of the sunset over the Pacific. Justin and Susie were extremely accommodating with information about the Big Island, and didn't hesitate to help to and from the airport, as well as provide areas of interest for eating or shopping. Extremely reasonable price with tons of items provided for use at the beach. There are only two reasons this was rated as 4-stars and not 5 (in all actuality, I would have given it 4 and a half if the option were available): 1) I've become spoiled in my lifetime in needing air conditioning, but the house was open-air. It literally only took one day to acclimate, and once darkness fell, it cooled off quickly. 2) The home has a tenant which lives below the rental portion. The tenant was not a bother at all, but the vehicle she parked in the shared driveway created a bit of an obstacle course in and out of the driveway. Other than those two minor deficiencies, a GREAT place to stay with an absolutely awesome view!!

Owner's Response: Subject: Review of Walua #219163

RESPONSE:

We appreciate the review and the outlook this vacationer wanting to give us 4
1/2 stars instead of 4, as we always strive to have all vacationers experience a
great Kona vacation. We did make the extra effort and spent a couple of hours to
meet them at the airport to load up all of their luggage and bring it to the
house and there was literally a full truckload of luggage that they could not
fit in the large van that they rented for the party of seven(7) that they had
with them. Prior to their booking we alerted them to the fact that we had
question as to the size of their party since there were 4 adults and 3 children
16,10, and 5 years old, but they indicated it was no problem and would make it
work, since they were all one family.

We would like to address the two(2) reasons that this vacationer did not give
us a rating of 5.

First the statement was "I've become spoiled in my lifetime in needing air
conditioning, but the house was open-air." did not come from the individual we
rented to it came from one of the adult members of his party, who we had never
spoken with prior to this. So this concern came from someone that we did not
work with or rent to, who is admittedly indicates how spoiled he is and while we
DO NOT advertise air conditioning he strangely expected it to be there. The
home gets continual breezes and we do not leave all of the French Doors open
prior someone's arrival for security reasons and knowing that it only takes a
few minutes to cool off regardless of it being day or night once the
three(3)six(6) foot wide doors and the other doors are opened with or with out
the ample fans being turned on in addition to the breeze. We have never had this
issue arise, we do not need air conditioning. There was no misrepresentation of
the home on our part regarding air conditioning. This was a 3rd party individual
who is spoiled as he indicates and is now expressing that because he is spoiled
everyone should provide him with air conditioning, due to his being spoiled.

The second statement was:
" The tenant was not a bother at all, but the vehicle she parked in the shared
driveway created a bit of an obstacle course in and out of the driveway. Other
than those two minor deficiencies, a GREAT place to stay with an absolutely
awesome view!!"

Our downstairs tenant is a psychologist who is as quiet as a church mouse and
she has a little Honda Civic; which is one

Beautiful views. Convenient to Kialua-Kona

  • 4 of 5
We only stayed one night but wished we could have enjoyed the house longer. Open floor plan afforded a beautiful sunset and expansive views of the ocean. Very comfortable and we look forward to a return visit.

Lovely, relaxing and would definitely stay again.

  • 5 of 5
The description was accurate regarding location, layout and amenities. The property was clean and well-maintained. We received excellent customer service including a preview of things to do well on the big Island. I would definitely recommend the property to a friend or relative. We hope to go back! We enjoyed the island from the Kona Coast to the Volcano Park to the Hilo botanical gardens and Mauna Kea. We packed a lot in a short amount of time and to come home and wake up every day to that great Oceanview sitting on the lanai was spectacular.

Future Stay

  • 5 of 5
Although it is still 3 month before I will be staying in this, what appears to be, a beautiful home, Justin and Bill were extremely accommodating for me and my family. You can tell they genuinely care about making your stay memorable, and want to limit the amount of difficulties associated with any trip. Expect another review in a few months, but I would highly recommend them thus far; do NOT foresee my next review to be a negative one.

This Opulent Executive Vacation Home overlooks Kona Bay and Keauhou Bay and is located at an excellent elevation for continual cool breezes on the western most part of the Big Island. It is close to everything in Kona and close to the starting point for all tours and ocean attractions. There is everything that one would want to do in the immediate area. Day trips are easy to the volcanoes, waterfalls, hot ponds, observatory, horseback riding, City of Refuge, Pololu Valley, Waipio Valley and much, much more. You can also drive up the Kohala Coast in order to watch the dolphins or the whales on the way up the coast line. You also want to stop in Kohala and visit the famous King Kamehmeha statue at the civic center. You will enjoy the photos with the beautiful Hawaiian statue. The city of Hawi is a excellent source of old Hawaiian history throughout the town. You want to keep on the way to the lookout point at the Northern most tip of the Island.

Golf: You will appreciate the way that everything flows together with that feeling of comfort and being at home.

After a fabulous day in Kona, toast the end of another day in paradise to the most beautiful panoramic sunset in the Pacific. You can then fall asleep gazing at the stars through the skyroof, wake up to a Kona sunrise sky, and another day of fabulous vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii in Kona. This is a home that you will want to return to again and will want to recommend to your close friends.
