House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Recently renovated 4 BR/2 BA, 2-story home on a quiet street on south New Smyrna Beach. We are only a few steps from the beach and a short walk to famous JB's Fishcamp (a popular rustic restaurant/bar) and the Canaveral National Seashore Park. Manatees are often seen grazing at a park river pier, which is only three blocks away in the opposite direction.

Our section of the beach has no driving and very limted public parking, thereby making it practically private. With a vacant lot next door, we have ample parking for your RV, boat and friends.

From our place you can beach walk for less than 10 minutes and cross into the Canaveral National Seashore Park where there is absolutely no development. You explore the beaches & dunes in their natural pristine state. If people-watching is more your thing, you can walk the same distance northbound and you will be at Mary McLeod Bethune County Beach Park (see links to both Parks below). There you will find surfers, a lifeguard and plenty of bodies soaking up the sun (also tennis courts, basketball courts and fishing dock across the street, riverside).

Why pay an arm & a leg for a beach vacation when you can walk a few steps and stay for half the price? For what you'll pay for our place, you can afford another trip. Or, better yet, stay with us twice as long!

Why The Owner chose New Smyrna Beach

We began renting only 2 years ago, after our renovation. We loved the Atlantic beaches and always wanted a family vacation home. With Orlando as our home base, we wanted some place within a reasonable drive and New Smyrna was the perfect choice. It exactly a 1.5 hour drive for us door-to-door. Also we loved the remoteness that "Bethune Beach" (South NSB) offered. It's like our own private beach (no traffic).

What makes this house unique

We love being so close to the undeveloped beach of Canaveral National Seashore park, and yet only a quick jaunt away from restaurants & shopping. We love having two separate, upstairs/downstairs family/TV areas. The kids can shoot pool, play video games and watch their shows downstairs, while we enjoy other activities upstairs. We love our large upstairs outside deck, especially in the mornings with a cup a coffee and late afternoons with a refreshing adult beverage. It doesn't get better than that!

County recreation park is three blocks away with tennis, basketball, children's playground and fishing pier. Also two boat ramps are close by.

On Sundays at the Canaveral National Seashore Park, 2-hour pontoon boat tours of Mosquito Lagoon & the estuaries are given by National Park Rangers (for a small fee).

Absolutely perfect place to stay. Plenty of space for everyone , clean and all the cook wear you need. My husband loves to cook and was very satisfied. We were right across the street from the beach and saw sea turtle nest every morning. We went clamming and had fresh seafood daily. Bring your bikes, sun block and bug spray too. Noseeums are bad but cant be helped. You can put a big fan out side and spray yourself and be good. The was perfect and location makes you feel secluded enough. Debi was quick to respond to any email or phone call. Kids loved it too and patio is safe for them (no exit on top). If you have small kids the beach just north (walking, biking or car ride) is perfect for them to have room to run and play with shallow water. Debi list local places to eat, we have been here before and all the choices were good.

We had a wonderful time. The place was exactly as listed. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach so people could come and go as they pleased. Owners were very quick to respond to questions. We come to New Smyrna Beach every year with our family for spring break and have stayed at a different house each time, but after staying at the Lake House we believe we have found a house to return to.

Great beach house!

This home was exactly as portrayed and fit our family perfectly! It was a very short walk to the beach, which was very private and had no cars. The kitchen was well stocked. We had 3 generations of our family sharing the home. The beach chairs and toys were great for the toddlers and the pool table provided entertainment for others. Family rooms on both levels were convenient when the toddlers were taking their naps. The deck was a secure outdoor play area. All in all a great escape from winter!

Christmas in Florida

The only thing we need to say is..... WE ALL WANT TO GO BACK !!!! Thank you very much to the Lake Family for making their "home" available to be our "home" for Christmas. Of course we were unsure of the whole idea of renting - but after talking with the family we felt we were making the right decision.

We traveled from NY to FL with Grandpa & our teenage children (19 & 16). We honestly felt at "home" ! We enjoyed a Christmas Eve dinner with FL Family - had plenty of seating/dishes/cooking items to enjoy a dinner with 12 guests.

The Lake's were awesome and allowed us to bring our dog, Penny the Papillion with us. She didn't enjoy the hotel on the way down - but felt right at home laying on the deck overlooking "her turf" -

We woke early and walked the beach enjoying the sunrise every morning - not commercial like the bigger beaches - so besides the fishermen we were alone. Our collection of shells that each of us found is now on our dining room table - don't look as nice with the surrounding snow...

The book that the Lake's leave out with suggestions of restaurants/places to visit - is great - each review was spot on - we enjoyed everyone restaurant & place that we went to.

We definitely recommend and WE WILL rent again - only next time longer so that we can have more time to enjoy.

Perfect Vacation Home !

The House was perfect,it exceeded our expectations.It has every thing you need.The location of the house and beach access is great,very private! We came down for Biketoberfest in Daytona and the extra lot next door work out perfect for parking our trailer. It was a short ride to Daytona for all the craziness but the best part was leaving it all behind and returning to our quiet beach house!
