1920'S LOG CABIN HOME ON LAKE SUPERIOR

Lutsen Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-9)

This updated, 1920's full log cabin is surrounded by natural beauty and the retreat is situated overlooking Lake Superior with lake access to "sunning rocks." A stream babbles beside the sleeping porch.

Perfect for winter skiing or summer vacations. The cabin's logs have been lovingly maintained by the owners for over five generations. There is a full kitchen, large stone wood burning fireplace, and a 3/4 bathroom. The windows in the living room are huge with a beautiful view of the water.

The four burner gas stove also burns wood over two extra burners for an authentic cabin experience.

One bedroom has a bunk bed plus a full bed and the master bedroom has a queen bed. There is a twin daybed and a queen sofa bed on the enclosed sleeping porch - weather permitting (late spring through summer and early fall). The queen sofa bed is brought into the living room during the winter months and the sleeping porch is closed off.

BEAUTIFUL SPOT FOR A NORTH SHORE GET AWAY

  • 5 of 5
Sept 2012 - This was the 2nd year my friends and I stayed at Pine Knot for a long weekend and we were not disappointed! The cabin is charming and has a vintage feel - with comfortable and tasteful furnishings and beautiful views of the lake from all the front rooms. The kitchen is utterly charming with a vintage style stove and is very well equipped for the cook with everything you will need from bottle openers to decent knives to the largest skillet we had ever seen!
The property is nicely secluded and well landscaped with large trees and a nice mix of open space and wooded areas. There is a path that leads down to the lake and right to the water - again very private and spectacularly beautiful. A wonderful place to sit and meditate on the splendor of the North Shore! The cabin is located close to Grand Marais for a rainy day trip in for shopping or eating - try The Angry Trout for a good meal right on the water!
Pine Knot is a wonderful and unspoiled spot and I am already planning my return trip! Thank you to the owners for allowing us to use such a special spot and thank you to Greta for her excellent care taking!

AMAZING RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
Just got back from a weekend at the 1920's cabin with a group of buddies. Tons of Amenities! Beatiful land, view and lakeshore. The creek and waterfall were a nice suprise. Its a quick drive to Grand Marais or Tofte, and extremely close to Lutsen Mountain. I really cannot praise this large cabin enough. Tons of charm, every pot, pan, cookie sheet and utensil needed for cooking, Ill definately book this again. Plenty of room to sleep as well. We had 6 for the trip and still had extra sleeping spaces.

PERFECT, CHARMING GET-AWAY

  • 5 of 5
We just got back from Pine Knot and absolutely loved it. It was perfect for two couples, though also could accomodate a larger group. The cabin is more spacious then it appears in pictures. Both bedrooms are large, as is the kitchen, living room and porch. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner and breakfast.

Lots to do in the area - the guys golfed at Superior National in Lutsen and the gals hiked the Superior Hiking Trail.

Thank you for making your family cabin available on VRBO!

LARGE LOG CABIN

  • 3 of 5
There was plenty of room for our family of five. The sleeping porch was really nice and the living room was big. The beds had nice sheets and the mattresses were firm and comfortable. The house was not as nice as the pictures made it look. It was okay though, and it was fairly clean. The floors were slanted, but I guess that's because it was old! The thing that bothered me most is that the oven did not work. We got it to light a few times but most of the time it wouldn't light. That was disappointing because I had something all mixed up to go in the oven and couldn't make it. A new oven and stove is needed. The kitchen was very well equipped. There was a charcoal grill available and a nice fire pit area. We had fires two nights and enjoyed that. The flies were really bad the week we were there, so we couldn't sit outside by the lake. We enjoyed the location and enjoyed doing some hiking in the area. We went to Grand Portage and Grand Marais from the cabin and those trips were nice.
