The palm tree shaded house is less than 50 feet from the Caribbean and you can swim, snorkel, kayak or just play in the warm turquoise water, or take in the whole picturesque scene seated poolside. This relaxed luxury appeals to both children and adults!
Extensive renovations to this charming pink stucco house were completed in October 2004. While retaining the privacy and shade provided by the 15 year old palm trees, the renovations added a beautiful glass tiled pool, an extensive wrap around patio, including in-pool seating, and a mosaic tiled gas-fired BBQ. The kitchen and living room were also remodeled with colorful Mexican tile and mosaics, and new furniture. Outdoors, hammocks and swings abound on the new patio connecting the beach side of the house to the sugar fine sandy shoreline and turquoise waters. The new upstairs terrace features 3 built-in sofas shaded by a new palapa, each with a fantastic Caribbean view.
This large and private second story terrace has elegant night time lighting and affords guests a perfect setting for cocktails and entertaining to the background sounds of waves and swaying palm trees.
Convenient home base: Because we are situated between Akumal and Tulum and just off the main highway, Casa Rosa is a great location from which to take day trips to the many cenotes, eco-parks, and Mayan ruins in the vicinity. Chichen-Itza is a 3 hour drive, Tulum is a 10 minute drive, and Coba is only 40 minutes away. Our library has several guide books to these destinations and others as well as a binder of our personal favorites, plus novels, CD's, and DVD's.
Relaxed luxury: Poolside, on the beach, and on the second floor terrace there are palapas with hammocks, and an assortment of beach chairs and chaise lounges. You can swim or kayak to the reef for excellent snorkeling or swim laps in the nearby cenote.
We also have CD's and DVD's for your entertainment, as well as games like backgammon and scrabble. If you are feeling athletic, there are 2 two person kayaks available for your use. Bring dive and snorkel gear, or rent it from the local dive shops.
Comfort and convenience: If you plan on eating in and/or entertaining, Casa Rosa's kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, glassware, cookware, bottled water, as well as a blender, coffee maker, juicer, gas range, and refrigerator. There are supermarkets in nearby Tulum and Akumal where most grocery items and liquor can be purchased or you can shop in Cancun at Costco or Sam's or one of the other large grocery stores. There is maid service 6 days a week and fresh towels and linens are replenished three days a week, or more when needed. Laundry services are available for 50 pesos (US $5.00) per load.

Local activities: If you want to stay close by, just down the beach is Casa Cenote Restaurant where you can experience fresh water snorkeling (in the cenote) and watch the fresh and ocean waters mix in front of a wonderful beachside restaurant, as well as the Blue Sky Restaurant. Oscar y Lalo's, famous for fresh seafood, is located just north in Tankah 4 (also known as Solimon Bay). A little farther from home, but still only 10 - 20 minutes away are the many restaurants in nearby Akumal and Tulum. Playa del Carmen, about 30 minutes north, is also a fun destination for dinner and shopping.
