Share the experience of an exceptionally charming 1820 farmhouse and barn surrounded by 8 private acres of lawns, shade trees, gardens, and meadows. Fully renovated, 2 bedrooms/full bath upstairs, 2 bedrooms/full bath downstairs, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with separate pantry and laundry room, living room with fireplace, cable, wi-fi. Lovely views from every window, beautiful inside and out. Enclosed outside hot water shower. The adjacent barn has been converted to a large open living space, comfortably furnished for family and social gatherings, with cable and wi-fi.

Conveniently close, Lambert's Cove (town residents only) Beach is an absolute gem, pristine, gentle and safe, great swimming, gorgeous sunsets. Terrific for families with young children. Behind the property is an ancient path for walking and biking through the woods past neighboring farms to the village grocery and post office. One of the best restaurants on the island is within walking distance.

There is much to see and do on this wonderful island, and the farm is perfectly located for access to all of it. The privacy and tranquility of the farm is unique ... West Tisbury living at its best, where all that matters is what matters to you.

About The Owner

Four generations of our family have loved and enjoyed the farm. My grandchildren like to get up (very!) early, feed the ponies, pick blueberries for breakfast and help in the garden, picnic lunch at the beach, then home for a nap, a pony ride adventure, a late afternoon swim at Ice House Pond, or a trip down-island. So the days go. Before we know it, it's time for dinner, a book and bed ...

The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 1968
Why The Owner chose West Tisbury

Island living. A sense of community. The land and the sea. We wished to share with our children the experience of living in a rural farming community that has retained its 'Old Vineyard' character. Our town's rural character is complimented by its proximity to the wild and beautiful ocean that surrounds us. This unique combination of land and sea is why we chose to live on the Vineyard, and in the town of West Tisbury.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Easy access to fresh herbs and flowers from our garden, solitude, family time, long walks through beautiful surroundings, bike rides, pony rides, fishing, beaches, swimming, sailing, stargazing, birdwatching, reading and relaxing, and participating in the many, many community events that make a Vineyard summer special.
