CHARMING APARTMENTS IN THE HINTERLAND OF THE COTE D'AZUR, 15KM FROM THE SEA

Le Plan-de-la-Tour Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Hameau les Claudins is a hamlet belonging to the Plan de la Tour

Hameau des Claudins is a hamlet belonging to the Plan de la Tour, a typical southern French village where you will find shadowy squares, a weekly market, shops and restaurants. In Plan de la Tour there is year round activity, such as traditional festivals, (wine) tastings, expositions, dance and theatre as well as jeu de boules tournaments. The region is surrounded by vineyards and wineries, which will gladly offer you a taste of the most wonderful wines. The location of Hameau les Claudines can certainly be called unique.

The apartment:

On the ground floor one bedroom with 2 large walk-in closets and a patio. On the first floor with a mezzanine loft and kitchen, a large living room (with sofa bed), a bedrooms with Bathroom, and a poolside terrace, entree from the living room. On the second floor a bedroom with a lovely balcony. This apartment has airco.

The expansive nature reserve of Le Massif des Maures lies on one side, and on the other, the boulevard and beaches of Sainte Maxime. The Maures Mountains take their name from the Provencal word maouro, which means dark, and lie between Hyères en Saint-Raphaël. The mountain range is densely covered with chestnut, cork, oak and pine trees. A driving tour leads you up steep roads, through the pristine and solitary mountains with breathtaking landscapes. You will find villages such as Collobrières, known for its chestnut jam and chestnut preserves, the 12th century Carthusian monastery of Chartreuse de la Verne and la Garde-Freinet. From the artisan village of Grimaud you have a beautiful view over the mountains and the coast.

Hameau des Claudins is a hamlet consisting of 2 Provencal stone buildings containing various fully renovated apartments. You may use the pool and Jacuzzi or you may be lured to a game of jeu de boules. An ideal surrounding for spending hour holidays!

French Riviera

The Côte d’Azur, otherwise known as the French Riviera, has been synonymous with chic elegance and lofty living for well over a century, however, its heyday was during the 1950s and ’60s, when practically everyone who was anyone seemed to have upped sticks and bought a duplex apartment along its pebble-strewn shores. It’s still a playground for the rich and beautiful, especially at stylish resorts such as Nice, Cannes, St-Tropez, and of course the epitome of extravagance, Monte Carlo – but less well-heeled visitors will find plenty to entertain them too. Elsewhere there are the perfumed streets of Grasse, the balmy beaches of Menton and the history stained cobbles of Fréjus & St-Raphaël to explore.

Les Massif Maures

The Massif des Maures is a succession of forested ridges and hills stretching from Hyères to Frèjus, bounded by the valleys of the Gapeau and Argens rivers to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. It is a part of the Provence coastal ranges, which start in the east with the Massif du Tanneron near Cannes, continue west with the Massif de I’Esterel, Massif des Maures, Massif le Sainte Baume and end in a spectacular fashion with the Massif des Calanques at Marseille. Though reaching only about 800m (2,600 ft) at its highest point, the Massif des Maures is definitely a very mountainous setting with its sudden drops, steep valleys and winding roads. It is densely forested and is ravaged from time to time by devastating forest fires during summer and autumn. Its vegetation is Mediterranean in character, cork oak, pine trees, mimosas and the typical Garrigue.

A hamlet is a settlement which is too small to be considered a town or village. As a general rule, hamlets are rural, and many of them arise around a specific site such as a mill or a large farm.

The word “hamlet” arose in English around the 1300s, borrowed from the Old French hamel, which means “village.” “Hamlet” is simply a diminutive of hamel, emphasizing the small size of a hamlet. Since hamlets are quite small, it is not uncommon for all of the property in a hamlet to be owned by the same person or company, as in the case of a farm or mill.
