Six miles north at Cape Canaveral, you can get a great look of the surrounding area at the Exploration Tower. Not far from there is the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse, where guests can take a tour and learn more about the area's space exploration heritage. If you're looking to go fishing out on the water, guests can find many options at Port Canaveral just six miles away.

Very Disappointed!

This place was well stocked, but fell short in other areas. The old, worn, brown shag carpeting in the bedrooms harbor odors and need replacing. Couches need professional cleaning also due to odors. Concrete restoration in common areas was loud and disruptive. Be aware that hotel construction next door will be ongoing for two more years. This place has a lot of potential but needs freshening up. I cannot recommend this place in its current condition.

Unable to Access the Property

There was preplanned construction happening on the walkway, which was the only way in and out of the property. When I arrived there was a sign on the door stating that I could not use the walkway between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for three of the five days of my trip. Signs were posted in the elevator saying this was a project that spanned more than a month. The unit shouldn't have been rented out during this time. I notified the property management firm right away and have followed up by text. I keep getting told they are "looking into it". I also contacted VRBO help to see if they could do anything and all they can do after a 30 minute chat is email the property manager and ask them the same questions I have already asked them. The condo had sticky handles and was not as clean as one might expect. There was no guest book detailing even the most important things like the fact that the random unexplained keys in a bowl are what you need to get into the gates/stairs if you leave! I have used VRBO many times before and never had an issue until I rented one using the Vacasa Property Management Company. Beware.

On the surface clean

We had a very nice stay and love the beach access. However the condo is not really clean. We were asked when we moved in if it was clean. I explained the following, and was offered the cleaning service. I didn’t want to spend a day of my vacation having to manage what they should have done months ago. So we decided to live with it. There are cobwebs in the corners, dust on the ceilings, black mold on the cords that connect the ceiling fans to outlets, baseboards are dusty, the master closet wire shelving is tacky and brown with mold and dirt. If there hadn’t been a washer we would not have used the dresser. We lived with the grime, if you can live with it, this is a great location to the beach, which is what we were here for. There is 13 acre closed down resort next door. Fire and police there every day running drills. I read it was bought by Hilton and will be rebuilt and opened 2024. You have to buy beach chairs etc…. The master bed was comfortable, memory foam. But if you are a hot sleeper you will sweat.

Condo was very clean and a nice location with a side view of the ocean.

We stay at Sandcastles every year and have rented from various owners. The only improvement I could recommend for this unit is to have beach chairs and umbrellas available for your tenants. Other than that- we had a very nice stay.
