This apartment is
located on the Czaar Peterstraat, in the centre of Amsterdam. The neighbourhood
is full of 19th century character, narrow streets and lots of art galleries. In
recent years, the area has developed into a base for many artists, and the
streets are home to many unusual shops and boutiques.
Just around the corner
is the Ij Brewery windmill (Brouwerij ’t IJ), where you can enjoy a delicious
beer. Also within a short walking distance is the famous Artis zoo, the Museum
of the Tropics, and Amsterdam University. The “Negen straatjes” (9 streets),
home to many of Amsterdam’s exciting smaller boutiques, are also just a short
walk away. The Palace on Dam Square and the hectic Kalverstraat shopping street
are close by, whilst the Red Light District and the calm of the Vondel park are
also within easy reach, either on foot, by bike or tram. Visit the tempting
Lindengracht food market on a Saturday morning, or the farmers' market on the
Noordermarkt. A short tram/bike ride away is the Museumplein, home to the Van
Gogh Museum, the newly reopened Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art and the
Rijksmuseum with its collection of world renowned masterworks. Something for
