This was a family get together for our dad's 90th birthday. Everyone had such a great time. Maurice and Jackie did an amazing job for lobster dinner/party. Such a fantastic time had by all. They took us clamming. Had so much fun. Maurice was always available when we needed anything and hooked us up for lobster. This is an owner that goes above and beyond.
Thanks Vickie, Deb & Gwen
This house was amazing and huge and I got lost because there were so many rooms. It was very clean and there was a spice rack. I enjoyed it immensely, I also really enjoyed all of the decor (especially the candelabras). Thanks Maurice.
How does one summarize the best week of their life in under 2500 characters?
The Inn is definitely what you make of it. But, when Maurice meets you at the door, you know right off the bat that you won't have a hard time making it EXACTLY what you need it to be. I got Married at the Inn and the week leading up to the wedding, both sides of the family stayed in the house. We crammed nearly 30 people in that house - comfortably. What you won't get with this rental is limited but I will list it here. You won't get a bellhop to carry you to your room, and you won't get a place suitable for catching up on your TV shows and other technical addictions. What you will get is the perfect Maine experience with an attentive owner who is literally willing to give you the shirt off his back. You will get a huge house with plenty of space to relax and decompress while always being within a few minutes from every amenity in the area that some people pay DOUBLE to enjoy!
On top of all this if you are having an event then you have indeed chosen the right place. I've been to a million weddings and never have I seen the attention to detail that Maurice and his staff put in that day. The food cooked by Mike the caterer (recommended by Maurice) was so good people refused to believe it didn't cost less than 100$ a plate. I never had to worry about a thing throughout the entire event - Maurice had it all taken care of. Then to top it off - Maurice shot off some FIREWORKS as a gift to us. You don't get a vendor with Maurice - you get a friend. I'll never - ever forget this place, and I WILL be back.
The Inn is what you make of it, and last week we made it a home filled with laughter, love and friends. If a small TV or rain has the capability to ruin your vacation this isn't your place, nor is any other considering at that point vacation isn't what you really need. We never used the TV the entire time we were there. We used the heck out of the 3-disc boombox as we danced across the livingroom. We went shopping in Camden, Fishing out of the harbor, cooked out on the grill and relaxed by the firepit. We tossed baseballs on the lawn and played bean bag toss as well. If some people call that roughing it - then I guess I like it rough. You simply can't go wrong with this rental.
Our family has a yearly reunion at different locations across the country. This trip is ranked up high on the list. The view of the water and mountains was spectacular. The country style home was very large was easily able to accommodate all 25 of us with room to spare. The lobster dinner that Maurice and Jackie gave us was a real treat. I would recommend this vacation spot to any families looking for a nice Maine vacation.
We just returned from a weeks stay at this inn and had a blast. However, if we saw the place prior to arriving our family reunion would not have been here. It should be noted that under amenities the following are listed: kayak, canoe, motorboat, beach towels, beach chairs, small cooler, a/c, bikes, sailboat, sandbox and motorboat. NONE were there unless you count the ONE window ac on the floor in one bedroom and the boat that is in the front yard that hasn't seen water in twenty years. Maurice the owner was very attentive with paper goods and the hues was clean, but not historic or well maintained. There was no internet and the one 19" television is in the barn. The barn with the bar, dance floor and sound system were fantastic and provided a great deal of fun. If you don't might roughy it and doing the dishes by hand- there is no dishwasher and the fridge leaks then this is your place. In the end we all sucked it up had a great time and many lasting memories. But the ads are highly deceptive.
