In this amazing spot, you'll have privacy, recreation, ideal location, and comfort in an incomparable setting. Relax with sparkling panoramic waterfront views, towering pines, mature conifer gardens surrounding glazed brick patios, redwood verandas, brick cooking patio, flowering trees, a peaceful courtyard, brick paths, private sandy beach, boat dock, swim platform, exciting boathouse -- and all that even before you encounter the incomparable home itself. This incredible home, a cottage that grew into an estate because the house was so well-loved, is a classic example of the New England add-on cottage style. A major renovation has just been completed, bringing together the best of the past and present. It has a beautiful gathering room, tastefully decorated in restrained Nantucket style. The shimmering lake and the towering pines are seen through huge sliding glass doors. The house is comprised of three attached buildings, the kitchen barn, the main house, and the Great Room barn.
The Great Room was added to the house in the '90s and perhaps should have been called the 'Greatest' Room. Shaped like a barn, but not exactly rustic, it is the size of most people's homes and has a 20-foot stone fireplace, sit-upon stone hearth, plank floors with hand forged nails, soaring ceilings, and a broad brick veranda taking in the beautiful lake view. The room is divided into areas: a banquet table, a writing area, two sofa areas with four Crate and Barrel off-white couches, a British West Indies armoire housing a TV, and1830s mahogany horseshoe counter for laying out a buffet, or locating your laptop. You may feel inspired to write your novel here under the watchful eye of the Sable Antelope on the fireplace. Ship's stairs lead to a carpeted loft overlooking the grand room. Moving from Great Room to patio through giant sliders offers a flow and ease of indoor-outdoor that are virtually impossible to rival, a blissful indoor outdoor connection...
An attached cottage/barn houses the fantastic kitchen. Its vaulted beamed ceiling (six skylights look up at the towering pines) gives it a bright and spacious feel. Wood floors, mahogany counter-tops, and the highest-end appliances available make this 2-sink 2 dishwasher kitchen a place to spend all your time. The Miele dishwashers and MasterChef double oven, and the very latest glass-door Sub Zero fridge make cooking and cleaning up painless. The new Thermador Pro Harmony gas range will give your chef a smile. An electric griddle aids in whipping up those big breakfasts. Step out the french doors into the sunny courtyard to snip some herbs or smell the roses. A side door leads to a brick barbeque patio with its gas grill, Weber kettle, and stress-removing lake view.
The decor is soothing and dignified (not fussy, frilly, or overbearing).

Please see our other listings if Tamarack is already taken. It would be our honor and pleasure to welcome you and your family for a vacation or event that is beyond your expectations.
Golf:
(Actually, while there are great golf courses nearby -- at Pinehills, White Cliffs, and throughout the Plymouth and Cape Cod areas, we thought we should give you more details on the house. We can provide more information for golfers should they inquire:) The master bedroom has a lake view, a queen-sized bed, a graceful soaking tub, tile shower, and wood-counter vanity with vessel sink and Grohe faucet. The middle bedroom has lake view, 2 full-sized beds with antique cannonball headboards. The 3rd bedroom has a lake view, 4 twin beds. The 4th bedroom is courtyard side and features two single beds. The main floor bedroom (just off the Gathering Room and mini-kitchen/wet bar) has a queen bed and adjacent bathroom (grab bar installed in tub wall) and is perfect if you have an older family member in your vacation party. And there is more. Tamarack has a private boat dock with jet ski ramp, a sandy beach, a boathouse with a bunk-bed and all-glass boathouse doors, with the lake lapping at the edge of the boathouse -- a breezy shady place to sit a spell. Plus, for those considering accessibility, most of the home's features are at-grade. The slope down to the water is an easy stroll, and there is a secondary driveway down by the dock that enables access by car should there be a special family member with particular needs.
The circular driveway allows multiple vehicles to navigate through the park-like setting.
