Recently renovated. With free wifi, free use of washer and dryer. Our location is unbeatable, 2 blocks from the Moscone center, in SoMa district, next to Marriott Courtyard hotel. 6 Blocks from Union Square a few blocks form the Ferry building, you could walk almost everywhere.
As I write we are just preparing to leave (so who knows, something non-fabulous could happen in the next 2 hours).
John has a number of apartments in this building, I'm sure they are all in the same great condition as this one. Well decorated, obsessively clean, everything functioning as it should. Outstanding bedding and linens (which is a real test point for us). Since I worked some, including a two hour conference call, having the office in the back of the apartment looking out over the garden was a nice add.
We were greeted by a wonderful spread of fruit, crackers, chips and wine. There are so many great restaurants that I did not cook (I usually do). But the kitchen is well equipped, ready to go.
The location is great, very convenient to the major tourist attractions and especially to Moscone if you're in for a conference or show. 200 feet to Starbucks, a block and a half to Umbria, a great Italian restaurant where I got to use my Italian with the waiters. We walked 15 minutes to Cirque du Soleil at ATT Park, 7 minutes to Moscone and the Museum of Modern Art. 12 minutes to Union Square.
There is a cab stand right around the corner, and you are 8 minute walk to the Bart station.
When I booked, I was a little concerned about the proximity to the freeway entrance. And in fact the apartment is very close to the ramp and there is some road noise. But even though the bedroom faces the street, John has worked it to keep the noise to a minimum. My wife who is a fanatic about a quite room found it satisfactory.
We don't know mutch about the relative safety of San Francisco neighborhoods, but we never felt any issue while we were here.
We've stayed in a lot of Homeaway type properties. This is one of the excellent ones. We are thinking about returning with freinds, just because this is such a great place to stay in a great city.
We 3 women with a pre teen child reserved the place for the Spring break. We read all other reviews. Most of them mentioned about noise. We didn't face this issue. Beds are comfy. Location is good. Public garage just the opposite.
My boyfriend and I went to San Francisco and a Giants game for the first time! Good location to do things in the city. We walked to At&t Park and Union square. We took a trolley to Pier 39 and Bart to and from the airport. The apartment is clean, has everything you need for a vacation stay, we like to cook healthy stuff so the kitchen was really convenient. The people from reservations sent us all the information we needed a few days before and they were very responsive.
The good- The condo owners were responsive to problems. The not-so-good, there were far more problems than I would have expected. Had I known the true state of the condo I don’t think I would have rented. To begin with, the listing said “Just Remodeled!” This condo was NOT recently remodeled. The photos are not current. The furnishings are old, worn and dirty.
The day I arrived it was in the 70’s. I was hot, the condo was stuffy and there was no thermostat. I decided to take a quick shower before I heading - no soap or washcloth. I called and left a message for the owner. They sent (Frank?) with an armful of hand towels and a cake of soap. I used paper towels to wash my face all week. Frank explained that it’s an old building -but he returned later with a fan. Thank you.
I am responsible for oversight of a business so internet accessibility is a requisite. The internet was down for most of the first 3 days. I reported the problem- Owner replied- first one thing then another. Modem is in a different unit so I am the mercy of renter in another unit not to be accidentally turning off. Likely the lady who came stumbling in intoxicated the previous night trying to unlock the door next to 201- only to realize her unit was upstairs. The “Satellite/Cable” TV was down for several hours each day. In meetings for most of the day, I looked forward to catching up on the news in the morning or at night. Cable went out each day. I sent pictures of the error on the screen to the owner. No help. No dishwasher- that’s OK- one person can get by w/o. But the amenities list a dishwasher.
Instructions on microwave say not to use the microwave, toaster and coffee maker at same time- blows breaker #2 in basement. I tripped breaker when turning on
microwave. Toaster and coffee maker not even plugged in. Refrigerator and stove went out at the same time. Unfortunately, I was in my nightgown and you have to go out into the hallway and down the steps (past the outside doorway) to this locked dungeon of a basement, and I was not getting into that until I was dressed. So I was unable to use the microwave OR stove that morning.
The primary reason I was reluctant to go down into basement in my nightgown, the day before I ventured down to wash the towels, MUCH TO MY HORROR there was a MOUSE stuck in FLYPAPER in the middle of the floor. Not dead- just scared and stuck- trying desperately to free himself from the glue. SERIOUSLY? Maybe you could put the traps in an area a BIT mo
Great location close to Moscone Convention, and helpful (and flexible) owners. Good space, full kitchen and small balcony add to a great venue.
My mom (82), daughter (19) & I (57) were coming to San Francisco to see my son graduate from university. Having just had knee surgery, I was worried about access, stairs, etc for both my mom & I. Rosavel & Kevin were quick to respond & give us details of this fabulous apartment! Only 5 steps up-which were totally manageable. We loved the modern decor, the small balcony off the back bedroom, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would possibly need! Beds were comfortable, plenty of fresh linens available, down comforters! The apt was bright, very clean & well ventilated. We were just a short distance to Moscone Center & close to the Embarcadero. Bus stop was just down from the apt & public parking lot directly across the street ($$$). Our hosts were also quick to respond to a TV issue as well. Overall, our stay was wonderful! We loved the openness & size of the apt! Only downside-not enough towel hooks in bathroom or places to put your cosmetic bags. A small side table or storage rack would be a plus in there! Also, even though we were very close in proximity to a freeway on-ramp, the noise was never a problem! We LOVED this place! GREAT STAY!!
