Our four-bedroom/two-bath house is located on a gently sloping acre lot, with water on three sides. The wide green lawn has lots of shade trees, and room to play or relax. There is a picnic table within a few feet of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.

This newly decorated home is spacious and sunny. There are four bedrooms plus a Florida room with a futon that makes a double bed. The large family room has a full-size sleeper sofa and loveseat. There are two baths, a large porch for relaxing and dining, and a ping-pong table in the game room.

Our house has central air-conditioning and several ceiling fans. Amenities include color TV, DVD, VCR, an AM/FM/cassette stereo player, a washer, dryer and dishwasher.

Smith Mountain Lake is known for fishing; and we have 175 feet of shoreline to test your skill. The covered boat dock is available for fishing, mooring your boat, or watching the sunset. A gas grill and picnic table are provided for your outdoor dining pleasure.

This is a great home for a family fishing trip such as ours, or any kind of family vacation. There were plenty of beds for everyone and the layout of the home provided a good amount of privacy between all but two of the bedrooms. These two were perfectly laid out for Mom & Dad to be in one room and the kids in the room next door. As far as kids are concerned I would rate this great for kids, there is plenty of room for them to play inside and outside the house. I will say that this house to me is the ideal lakefront vacation home. It is not so fancy that you are afraid to let the children play for fear of them knocking over this or that and breaking something expensive looking. It is furnished in a comfortable way so that you can really relax and feel at Home!

The owners really are very nice and attentive to you as a renter. They promptly responded to several e-mailed questions that we had before we took our vacation. Also, they called the day we arrived to make sure we had found the house, made it there safely and that everything was to our satisfaction upon arriving.

My family has vacationed in this area many, many times over the years and really just enjoy the lake. I have to suggest to anyone staying at this house they should check out the store just past where you turn onto the road the house is on. I'm sorry that I cannot think of the name, but they have lots of fun different things to look at including a large inventory of wines, including some non-alocoholic wines that we enjoyed. My absolute favorite restaurant is "No Bologna" on the main road of the area. They have the absolute best Sub sandwiches that I have ever had anywhere and the lady that owns it actually remembers us from year to year. Since we have discovered this sub shop we probably eat there at least twice each time we have been on vacation there.

The next time we are at Smith Mtn. Lake we will be staying in this house if possible!!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone who would ask!

The owners of the house communicated well, and the transaction etc. was smooth. The house was pretty much as described. We had a group of 6 fisherman and we all had our own area and it was a fully spacious functional home. I think there was a beach listed, but this is just a collection area and not really a swimming area. The only minor dissapointment, was that the home listed a covered dock. yes it is covered but for the owners boat that was there. We were still able to get 3 boats around it though and it did have power there. The view is incredible and the marina is right cross the lake. Its about a 9 mile ride to launch boats. We will definately look to stay here in future fishing adventures.

Place as described and well maintained. Owner called a few days into rental to ensure all was fine. A big yard for the family to roam.

Great location across the lake from Bridgewater stores with many shops and restaurants.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities
