European Art Cottage Weekly Rental European flair, beautifully appointed, artwor

I stayed at the European Art Cottage for the entire month of August, 2009. A friend of mine joined me for the month and my husband and one of my sisters visited. We all had a wonderful time. The house is filled with artwork, beautiful Tiffany style lighting, chandeliers and much more. The kitchen had everything we needed and I loved the convection oven. The master bedroom with ensuite bathroom was amazingly comfortable and the backyard deck is a dream, including a great hot tub and magnificent sunsets. The living room is perfect for relaxing and catching some classic movies on TMC. Patrice was always exceptionally helpful and gave us recommendations for things to do and for restaurants.

The cottage is within easy walking distance to Lake Tomahawk and its trail around the lake. The Black Mountain golf course is very challenging (with one Par Six!) and is also minutes away. My husband loved the course. Black Mountain has excellent restaurants and interesting stores. The Seven Sisters Gallery should not be missed! Ashville is only a 20 minute ride and the Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible. We went to Chimney Rock State Park and the Arboretum, enjoyed the Black Mountain Sourwood Festival, and couldn't get enough of the inexpensive live music at the White Horse. We went to see a play at SART about Thomas Wolfe and toured the Thomas Wolfe home in Ashville. We went in search of the Black Mountain College, formed by Germans leaving Germany before World War II, and found it (the property is now a boys' camp in a sylvan setting). Although the college closed in the 1950s, it had a lasting effect on American art and dance throughout the country. Art is in the air in this part of the country.

Great place to stay, great location, so much to see and do in the midst of astounding natural beauty. I would recommend to friends and relatives and hope to return myself.
