This two-bedroom/two-bath town-home, in lovely Sailboat Bay on Plash Island, is a great vacation spot for the boater, swimmer, and anyone who loves watching the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico! The home has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with fireplace, and a balcony off both the living room and the master bedroom. Downstairs there is a two-car garage, a small office area, a family room with queen-sized pull-out sofa, and an outdoor patio that overlooks the marina and the house's own boat slip (up to 42 feet, with a hook-up - please inquire if it will be available during your stay). The development features two swimming pools -- one across the street and the other (an indoor outdoor pool) just steps away. The clubhouse includes a fitness room, a hot tub, and a gathering room. And there are several on-site tennis courts. It also has a private boat launch. This is a gated community. Bring your family for a fabulous southern vacation.

Sailboat Bay is a boaters' community. If you have little kids or want to party on the beach, then you should rent a condo on the beach in Gulf Shores, and not here. But, if you enjoy walking the marina and living in a quiet, adult setting, then this is the spot for you. A car is a necessity -- stores, restaurants, and the beach are 4 to 6 miles away.

The owner of this unit is very nice and communication was excellent. There are many fine restaurants. I thought Lulu's would be too touristy but their food is terrific. Check out the Wharf in nearby Orange Beach for restaurants and shops.
