Pretend you're roughing it when you're not!: Guests who want relax 'outside' without ever worrying about bugs are going to love our unique 12 x 14 framed screen house. We built it close enough to the creek so you can watch the water flow by and listen to the 'water music' without even getting out of your chair. Read, play cards, get caught up on family news, bring down a picnic basket from the house, watch your spouse fly-fish the creek, or your kids play in the water. Work on crafts, or just sit down there and and do nothing. We provide the pillows, blankets, comforter and sheets for the full-size, very comfortable davenport sleeper. If you plan on sleeping in our screen house or in your own tent or camper in the early springtime, all food must be properly stored away so as not to attrack bears or other critters. Kids, dogs and smoking are all allowed inside the screen room - but guests are responsible for preventing (and repairing) any damage done to the furnishings, woodwork or screens, just as they do in the guesthouse
Enjoy the whole county or just veg out here: There are no other renters or rental units here, so there's none of the noise associated with water parks or large RV/camper sites where you're elbow-to-elbow with other vacationers. The owners do live just downstream from the guesthouse, but you'll never see them unless they're watering the gorgeous gardens surrounding Creekside or you need their help with something. Lakes, parks, trails, county and state forest land are either right down the road or within a 30 minute drive if you want to boat or fish the lakes, hike, bike or ride horseback. Easy driveway access to 235 miles of ATV/motorcycle trails and 100 miles for snowmobilers. Go scuba diving at Wazee Lake, try your luck at Majestic Pines Casino, golf at a great course right in Black River Falls or walk the 4 mile Heritage Trail around the city. You'll need to bring your cell phone (no land-lines here), bedroom linens, large beach towels and flashlights. Oh, yeah, groceries, too. That's it. Key in. Sigh. Relax. Enjoy
Mileage, kids & dogs : We're just two hours from Madison, 70 minutes from the Wisconsin Dells, 1 hour from La Crosse, or Eau Claire, about 3 hours from Wausau, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester & Dubuque IA and four hours from the north Chicago suburbs. Toddlers (and youngsters who require babysitters when you're out of the home) must be under adult supervision at all times in the house, on the property and in the water.
Dog(s) are always welcome if housebroken, kept off furniture, are current on shots and are kept under voice or leash control inside the buildings, on the grounds or in the water. Refundable $100 pet damage deposit required. Modest per-night (not per day) pet fees apply. Up to 3 dogs allowed, with no weight limit.

The 18 hole Skyline Golf Course in Black River Falls is a golfer's dream course - laid out over acres of undulating and wooded hills. The back 9 is especially scenic and well-designed as it carves its way through a beautiful oak and pine forest.

Drive onto a 100 mile ATV trail right from the house; bring your fly rod and fish our stream for wild brown trout, native brook and rainbow; take a short drive to canoe and kayak the Black River or fish the Black River, Lake Arbutus and flowages for muskie, walleye and smallmouth bass; hunt for whitetail deer, ruffed grouse, wild turkey, ducks and geese; ice skate year-round at the Black River Falls rink; enjoy prime scuba diving at Wazee Lake - Wisconsin's deepest lake; hike, bike or even bring your horses along and ride 20 miles of horseback riding trails at the 68,000 acre Black River State Forest; experience the beauty of Ho Chunk culture at their Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend pow-wows or try your luck at the Ho-Chunk Casino!
