Fabulous 4th of July week in Destin
WOW!!!!! What a fabulous vacation home! This quaint cottage is fully stocked and so clean and comfy. My family takes a tropical beach vacation every summer, most recently to Jamaica & Bahamas. However, this year we have a new little 11-month old granddaughter so decided it would be best to remain in the states for her first trip. Since we always stay at resorts, we thought we'd try a home rental this time and we were thrilled to find Jim & Cathy's "Changes in Attitude" baby-friendly cottage was completely stocked with baby necessities. Flying in from Texas, this certainly simplified things. Everything we needed for Hope was provided and she had a blast at the beach & pool every day. I particularly enjoyed rocking her on the back porch and upstairs veranda -- it was so peaceful.
This home and it's owners are the best! Cathy asked about our interests & sent a great welcome package with brochures, maps, menus, etc. She also promptly addressed our request for July 4th fireworks displays with several options as well as pros & cons of each. We ended up staying on our beach & watched numerous displays which were visible for 2 hours up & down the entire coast --- it was AMAZING!! And we didn't have to deal with any traffic!
Cathy also researched our questions about a private chef although we decided against it and took her suggestion to pick up yummy crab-cakes from Sarah K's. We ate breakfast at the Broken Egg, got donuts from The Donut Hole, ordered pizza, and had fun evenings at Buster's & Pompano Joe's as well as hit the outlet mall & explored the shops at Baytowne Wharf. Other than that, we ate at "home". This kitchen is fully stocked with really nice cookware, utensils, and all the kitchen necessities.
These owners are very friendly and they have done a lot to ensure you have a stress-free stay at their home. Everything is provided for beach fun & comfort. The home is stocked with books, magazines, games, movies, hats, and even flashlights! All you need to take is your clothing and sunscreen. After a quick trip to wal mart (if you go to Winn-Dixie, be sure to get their discount card) for groceries and some adult beverages, we were ready to kick back & enjoy. We will definitely be re-booking this home in the future.
