This is a charming vacation rental. It is located at Historic Waltonia, on the Big Thompson River. It's just off Hwy 34 (Between Mile Marker 73 and 74) on a side road with over 150 feet of Riverfront property in an area offering some of the best fly fishing in the country. The 4 person hot tub with a gazebo will help you relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. The cabin is just 30 minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park. The town of Estes Park is just 15 minutes away, and offers golfing, boating, fine dining, and local entertainment and great shopping. Black Hawk and Central City is just an hour drive away for the Casinos. Elk, Deer, Big Horn Mountain Sheep, and Turkeys are some of the wildlife in the area. Smoking outside is permitted. Pets by prior approval only. Owners quarters are on property.

Cozy 2 bedroom and 2 bath cabin.: The two bedrooms easily sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. Additional children need to be discussed. Highchair and portacrib available. Because this is my home when not rented I leave personal belongings in the third bedroom. Cooking spices and some other things are available. I just ask that you replace any canned food etc used.

Hot Tub and Flyfishing : Come and relax in the four person Hot Tub after a day of fly fishing on the Big Thompson River. The Big Thompson River offers some of the best Trout fishing in the state. The eight mile stretch from Estes to the Waltonia Bridge is catch and release and artificial flies and lures only. From the Bridge to Loveland you can keep the trout if you want to or practice the catch and release for the next fishermen to have some fish to catch.

Wildlife Viewing: The Estes Valley is one of the greatest places in the USA for viewing wildlife. On any given day you will see Big Horn Sheep along Hwy 34 to Estes or Loveland and you may encounter bears or mountain lions but they usually stay away from the humans. We have Wild Turkeys, Elk, and Deer in the area also.

Other Activities: Leisure Activities are 20 minutes away and Big Horn Sheep viewing from the front porch.

Relaxing, rejuvenating riverfront canyon getaway

More than just a cabin....this is a fully furnished house with every amenity you can think of, even all the special cooking spices you wish you had at home! The completely private hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. The outdoor fireplace was perfect for hotdogs on a stick and roasting marshmallows for s'mores. The outdoor grill cooked our steaks to perfection, and the neighborhood fox even paid us a visit, when he smelled the meat cooking! The living room fireplace lent coziness to the comfortable room. Majestic canyon walls, a rushing river just out the front door, and the beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park just a few minutes drive away....what more could you ask for? We visited during elk rutting season, and were treated to seeing hundred of elk each night in RMNP as they came down out of the mountains. Can't wait to go back for another stay!

Lovin' the River

This was a very nice home and included everything we could possibly need. Being right one the river was perfect. We spent a lot of time lying in the hammocks just listening to the rushing water. It's also the perfect distance from Rocky Mountain National Park. It's a lovely drive getting there and before you know it, you've arrived.

Nice getaway

This cabin was more of a home than a rustic cabin. Close to Estes Park with plenty of activities. The wood burning stove heats the house up nicely and the furnace is a great backup. 2 spacious bedrooms and a nicely stocked kitchen. The hottub is a nice feature. We had 8 inches of snow during our stay and the scenery was absolutely stunning.

Thank you again for sharing your home with us for our 11th Anniversary. We couldn't have asked for more. The mountain sheep across on the cliffs and the bear on the road were highlights of our stay. The drive to Estes Park is breathtaking and Estes Park has everything you could want to see and do. Hopefully we will see you next year...until then we wish you all the best!
