Beautiful spot on Lake Christopher and close to Sunday River and Mt. Abram. Located in the mountains of Western ME, this home is the perfect 4 season getaway. During the winter months you can ski at Sunday River (12 mi.) or Mt. Abram (4 mi.), ice skate on the lake, snowmobile, cross country ski or ice fish. The home is located directly on Lake Christopher, a spring fed, crystal clean lake. It has a large private dock with 200 feet of water frontage. The water is deep enough to permit diving from the end the dock. The fishing on the lake is superb and the lake is quiet enough to enjoy water skiing or kayaking at any time of the day. The evening sunsets are breathtaking.

We have 200' of water frontage on crystal clean Lake Christopher. Western Maine has hundreds of clear lakes and majestic mountains. We are 5 miles from the historic town of Bethel, Maine. Bethel has a variety of great restaurants and fun shopping to explore. There are two golf courses close by. The Bethel Inn's 18 hole course and the new Trent Jones designed Sunday River Golf course. Hiking is abundant, there is great trail right across the lake along with multiple trails at Grafton State Park and Evans Notch. Frenchman's hole is also an exhilarating destination - jump from a 20ft granite rock formation into a crystal clean deep swimming hole. Sunday River is only 15 minutes away with 135+ trails and Mt. Abram with 44 trails is just 4 miles from our home.

  • A refundable deposit of $500 will be required with each reservation.
  • 50% of the total is due upon making the reservation. The Balance will be due 30 days prior to the arrival. If a personal check is returned by the bank there will be a $50 service charge. No Refund within 30 days of arrival unless the unit is re-booked for the entire length of the original booking. If the unit is re-booked, you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.

Skiing - Downhill and Nordic: The Bethel area offers ski and snowboarding and has been named 'the greatest ski town in the Universe' by Ski Magazine. We are just 12 miles to Sunday River, offering over 120 trails and 8 mountain peaks with a new gondola this season, and 4 miles to Mt. Abram. The area also offers Nordic skiing at its best with the Bethel Inn's Nordic Ski and Snowshoe Center, Sunday River Cross Country Ski Center and Carters Cross Country Ski Center, conveniently located on Intervale Road.

Hiking, Horseback Riding, Biking, Golf: There is a multitude of hiking trails, biking routes and horseback riding stables in the area. There are 2 golf course close by. Bethels Inn's 18 hole course and Sunday River's Trent Jones designed 18 hole course.

Snowmobiling and Dog Sledding: There are various Snow Mobile and Dog Sledding operations in the Bethel/Western Maine area.

I give top ratings on this beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained home. The house sleeps 10 very comfortably and is perfect for entertaining, with a large eat-in kitchen and additional dining area connected to a living room with a cathedral ceiling and fireplace. A wall of windows and sliding doors reveal a stunning view of the lake.

We have stayed in the house in December/January and usually ski at Sunday River. The drive to the ski resort is easy and direct. Even with lots of snow, the driveway and roads are well plowed and sanded.

We highly recommend renting this house.

Wonderful winter getaway

This home is a wonderful place for a winter skiing getaway - all the amenities of your own home - comfortable for families - plenty of room for adults and kids with their own space. Beautiful and comfortable furnishings. A quick ride up the mountain to Sunday River and fantastic skiing. Brilliant view across the lake - a winter wonderland! The perfect place to come 'home' to after a day of skiing. Close to restaurants, cinema and shopping in Bethel. Perfect, perfect!

This is our favorite vacation home, we found it 3 years ago and have been returning since. You will be surprised by the how much bigger and more comfortable the house is than expected, the pictures absolutely do not capture the open flow of the house nor does it show all the rooms. The home is warm and inviting and beautifully appointed. You will not be disappointed.
Although, we are perfectly happy to never leave our beautiful lake house, we do venture out to our favorite spots, the kids love the "frenchman's hole" a great water jumping spot for the brave. I enjoy the hike across the lake from house.
Upon return in late afternoon we play a family game of softball or volley ball in the front yard. (plenty of room)
Finally, I have to mention the sunset.....reflected on the water.... is in itself worth the trip.
