2BR Lakefront Vacation Rental Rangeley, Maine USA

A charming early 1900's log cabin with a Franklin stove with sweeping views of Rangeley Lake. 125 feet from the shore.

Wrap around deck, partially covered, with Adirondack chairs and 2 picnic tables. Gas grill.

There are 2 bedrooms with double beds and a loft with 2 single beds. The bath contains a claw foot tub with shower. The kitchen stove is electric. DirecTV.

A non-motorized boat launch is available, shared waterfront access gradual entry ideal for swimming also. Wildlife sightings including deer, loons and occasionally moose on the property. Great Views!

The town of Rangeley is a charming New England town. Twelve restaurants, gift shops, antiques, IGA grocery, movie theater, ice cream stand, wonderful library, town park with boat launch. Scenic drives, moose watching, many hikes of all levels, Appalachian Trial is ten miles from the cabin.

This is a nice cabin well appointed with plenty of dry firewood for the fire, which was appreciated. There were a few housekeeping issues that we experienced with our stay that the owner took care of - I appreciated his desire to make sure any issues were resolved.

The cabin is very convenient to Rangeley. If that is important to you, then this cabin is for you. If utter privacy is important, this may not be the cabin for you and you may want to stay further away from town. Although you can't really tell from the pictures, it is a little neighborhood of cabins, each a few hundred feet apart, and there is a cabin directly in front of this one - so you do get a view of the lake from the cabin, but you also get a view of the other cabin.

We stayed at the Awahnee at the end of August and had a wonderful time! We were looking for relaxation, and we found it. The Awahnee is a lovely rustic cabin w/ some modern amenities...generally we like to camp, but with a new baby and toddler we were happy to spend our time here instead. The home is very comfortable and nicely equipped with linens and towels (some places make you bring your own), ample cooking equipment, tv, dvd, great woodstove, clawfoot tub, fire ring outside, etc...The owner has also compiled a nice binder of things to do, hikes, etc...We followed the suggestion on where to find moose, and saw 3!! We also rented a kayak from a store in town and had a great time kayaking and swimming in the lake. All in a ll we had a wonderful time and REALLY felt like we were on vacation! We will definitely be back!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
