The kitchen opens up onto a small balcony with a beautiful ocean view. There is sun all day since the apartment has three orientations, from east to west. You can then have your breakfast and look at the sea as the sun rises and have your dinner with the same view as the sun sets with a beautiful view of the illuminated city and it's Promenade. Because of its unique location, the apartment is very quiet. There is a private garage for one car or you may leave the car in a parking lot. There is one bathroom and a separate room for the toilet.

All windows have electric shades. Beds and furniture are new, except early XIX century Provencal chairs in the living room and a Louis-Philippe cupboard in one bedroom. Spices, dry herbs, and cleaning liquids are left in the apartment for your convenience. Their replacement is expected. There is a cable LCD television and a high speed internet access.

Neighborhood and weather: Nice is the French's fifth largest city - well served by an international airport, trains, highways, and a harbor. Nice has its own opera house, many cinemas where films in English are shown. The city is at a 20-minute drive to Monte Carlo or Italy (180 kilometers from Genoa), 25 minutes to Provencal villages such as Saint-Paul de Vence and Monte-Carlo, and 80 kilometers from ski slopes (South Alpes). There is a 20-minute walk to the beaches, ten by bus, and five by car.

The swimming is very pleasant since the water temperature can reach 28 degrees Celsius during the summer. Even though people swim all year round, it is comfortable till late October. Warm enough to grow grapefruit and oranges not to mention the famous small Nice olives, the area is the warmest and the sunniest of France. The dry Mediterranean climate gives a summer average between 25 and 30 degrees, 15-20 during winter (but it can be 26 on the terrace in January).

Since the apartment is located on a hill and with its three orientations, it enjoys a natural and pleasant breeze. In winter time, it is warm enough to lunch on the terraces and go skiing in the afternoon...

Most Spectacular Ocean Views is Spot On!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for views of the ocean in a quiet area of Nice, this place is for you. After spending full days of sightseeing, we came back to our apartment and sat out on the balcony enjoying the views and sunsets. The location is a bit away from all the Nice action, but we found the bus system worked well and/or walked. Normand was extremely helpful in providing us all the information we needed prior to leaving for our trip and made sure our stay was enjoyable, and we had everything needed. He provided restaurant suggestions with his information. I would also suggest that Oliviera in Old Nice be added to the list of restaurants. Fabulous home-made food and olive oil in this quaint restaurant. I would highly recommend this location.

Perfection by the Mediterrean sea

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful apartment was just as advertised; normand is very truthful in all his descriptions and photos. The apartment has views you wouldn't believe and watching the boats and ferries near the port is so much fun. The place is airy and light and fit for a king and queen. Yes, it is high on the hill but we saw that as simply no problem. Great pizza and pasta restaurant and grocery store within 10 minutes. 30 minute walk to nice one way and the enchanting ville franche the other. We stayed the entire month of August and wanted to permanently move in normand's apartment. And by the way, he was accommodating and helpful in every way. This place is five star all the way, thanks normand!!!

Outstanding. Believe the pictures

  • 5 of 5

We've rented numerous apartments on Home Away over the years and this was easily the most impressive we've experienced. After a marginally acceptable rental in Paris with pictures that were not particularly representative of the apartment we were concerned that this place would not live up to expectations. No need to worry there as the view and the apartment in general were if anything better than the listing described. Kitchen was modern and well stocked, beds were comfortable, building was quiet and (again), the view was priceless. Normand's communications were prompt and clear. We had a problem in receiving the keys ahead of time and he quickly devised a backup plan. Instructions provided ahead of time are thorough (and a little intimidating), but they make perfect sense once you're there. The drive up the hill to the apartment is worrisome the first time, but you quickly adjust (plus there's public transportation an easy walk away). If you're like us though there's no need to worry about going up and down the hill as you never want to leave the apartment once you're there.

Spectacular Stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved our time in Nice, especially staying in this beautiful apartment. The views were even more amazing in reality than the pics. It was truly stunning to awaken every morning, well-rested from the comfy bed, and look out over the ocean! We loved the darling kitchen and having our coffee and breakfast on one of many terraces. We could have sat there all day, but did manage to make a few fun excursions that included Eze, Monaco, Cannes and over the border into Italy. We really enjoyed our morning runs along the Promenade de Anglais, and would sit at a cafe overlooking the port. The town was a short drive down the hill. We loved exploring Old Nice and eating tons of spectacular food. Among our most memorable restaurants were La Reserve, where we enjoyed watching the kids dive off the pilings next door and watching the swimmers leaisurely swimming in the ocean, while we indulged in an incredible meal. Also liked the mussels at Coco Beach. And fun ambiance at Le Safari on the Cours Saleya.

We had some incredible sunsets at the apartment and truly hope to be back sooner rather than later. Merci beaucoup to our helpful host, Normand. The apt was packed with tip folders, maps, travel guides and lots of wonderful books and art. Loved it!

Perfect stay overlooking Nice

  • 5 of 5

We spent over a week at this lovely apartment and wonder why we left... it is truly delightful! The apartment is very clean, comfortable and even more stunning than in the pictures, and the never-ending views are spectacular. Normand has thought of everything to make your stay memorable, and every interaction with him was a pleasure. There is much to see and do in Nice and the neighboring towns. We enjoyed a variety of activities-- to wandering through Nice's museums to driving the corniches. We loved that we could choose to dine at home al fresco (on incredible produce from the Cours Selaya and fresh ravioli) or walk down to a terrific local restaurant (try Coco Beach or La Merenda, or any of Normand's suggestions!) Don't miss a stop by Fenocchio for ice cream, or Chez Pipo for socca (very good food and wine shopping near the latter). It is quite a climb up the hill, although well worth it, and a taxi can take you back if out late. We especially loved reading or sipping coffee (or a nightcap, peut-etre?) on the terraces and watching the boats come and go! In all we enjoyed a very pleasant respite here, and look forward to returning! Merci beaucoup, Normand!

This is the best of many worlds. Ideally located on the top of a hill in Nice, you can experience the unique view of the Mediterranean, day and night (stunning city view at night) and sleep in the best condition since the 2 bedrooms open on a park and on a terrace. There are so many things to do in the area not to mention Italy which is just a 45 minutes drive, Monaco 30 minutes.
