I am an artist..I run the Creativity Art Retreat in the main house from May to September in Dunedin...I founded the Majengo Orphanage in Tanzania: www.majengo.org in 2007, am an artist, living in Toronto
Lynn Connell purchased this cottage in 2000
I fell madly in love with this property back in 2000; rickity, old, nothing worked, but the bones were there. It is huge, open, airy, and on the banks of the Noisy River. I rented my house in Toronto, and moved up with the first snowfall in November, no head - the furnace, ducts and fireplace unusable. The water was silted in the well, had to carry buckets from the river. Slept on the floor with a heater, as we worked all that winter pulling down walls, adding a huge bank of north facing ceiling to floor windows, a massive skylight, re doing electricals, plumbing...it sparkles today. The River House next door came up for sale a few years later, right next door. Fully renovated now, with fabulous windows, cathedral ceilings, pine floors...steps from the river...it is awesome...Both places are....
Being the old general store built back in 1840...it is right on the road...with ample parking, but inside, you feel as thought you are far away, private, quiet, and right on the river....trees, clean air...open, bright, we have filled it with artists and great energy...pine floors, skylights, unique, original paintings, lots of space...looks small and normal from the outside, but inside, it makes you feel you are in Tuscany...
we are 5 miles west of the village of Creemore, right in the middle of the hamlet of Dunedin, right on the banks of the Noisy River....
