The Neighborhood:
We chose this dream vacation home at the Village of Bear Trap Dunes because of its location in Ocean View (just minutes from beautiful, unspoiled beaches), the family-friendly and lovely small-town atmosphere (front porches, parks, sidewalks, holiday parades, tree-lined streets and friendly neighbors), and the amenities (a 27-hole championship golf course, a world-class clubhouse with fine and casual dining, a driving range, pro shop, two outdoor swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool for rainy days, kiddie pools, a whirlpool, saunas, five tennis courts, a fully-equipped health and fitness club and a community center (for larger get togethers). The beautiful white sand beaches of the DelMarVa peninsula are only minutes away and there's a beach shuttle that stops just across the street from the house. For the kids, the amusements of Ocean City, MD are nearby. For Mom and the gals, the extensive outlet shopping is just north in Rehobeth Beach along with fabulous dining.
The House:
Enjoy the wide front porch with its comfy rockers - while relaxing with a book and a nice 'beach cooler.' Inside the house you will find the walls in the main areas a cheerful yellow that catch the light and lift your spirits. The ceramic-tiled center hallway leads back to the large great room, which is bright, airy, and very comfortably furnished. Here you'll find a gas fireplace and a 32-inch TV with a DVD/VCR player. There is a built-in floor to ceiling bookcase that houses the AM/FM/Stereo/CD/tape player and a great selection of music, books, and games. And the sofa in the great room is a queen-size sleeper for those unexpected guests.
The gourmet kitchen is the heart of this wonderful room. Here you can prepare your family meals and stay right in the middle of the conversation and laughter while doing so. A large counter with stools separates the kitchen's work area - and allows people to chat, snack, and listen to the music at the end of a beautiful beach day.
More About The House:
Evenings will often find you out on any of the three porches relaxing and talking, or just looking out at the calm serenity of the pond with its ducks, herons and birds. The back porch leads out to the private deck where the sunbathers and barbecuers like to hang out. After dinner you can take a walk around the village, taking in the coolness of the evening, thankful for a beautiful day, and thinking about what tomorrow will bring. Our newly furnished home features a first floor master suite with a queen-size bed and a private and beautifully tiled bath with separate soaking tub and shower. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with a connecting bath, plus a den with a desk for your laptop, and a futon sofa that can comfortably sleep two kids or one adult. The washer/dryer is in the utility room downstairs which leads to the two-car garage. The house also features a lovely backyard that backs to a quiet pond active with bird life.
