Family vacation success

  • 5 of 5
My family of 9 (ages 10 though 80) just spent the week at this unique and special house. The photos do not do it justice, as it is very LARGE. Our family was easily accommodated. There is no bedroom on the main floor so at first we were a little nervous for one of our elderly guests, but the stairs are well lit and have a handrail so it turned out to not be a problem. The kids stayed in the lower level of the house which includes the pool table, which turned out to be a great "baby-sitter". I myself have special needs which require a fragrance free environment. I would say that as promised the sheets/towels/linens were in fact fragrance free, which was a huge relief to me, and the first time in 3 rentals in which it was promised and then actually delivered!

The views from the house are spectacular, and change every day with the weather. One day bright and clear and mountains as far as the eye can see, the next day we were in the clouds which rolled across the landscape in a surreal way. We never saw any bears although evidently there are some in the vicinity. We were worried about bears being attracted by the trash barrels but nothing happened to our trash after we put it out, and we had cooked bacon and steaks more than once. We did see deer on several occasions at all times of the day.

The house is well furnished and we loved that all nine of us could sit comfortably at the dining table. The kitchen is well applianced and has the necessary accoutrements for anyone that would like to cook in it. We shopped at Rosauers supermarket in Bozeman on our way from the airport, which I highly recommend. There is a large ice-maker in the kitchen which we found to be very handy, as well as an extra beverage fridge. Cast iron pans which were great for perfectly pan frying those delicious Montana steaks.

Joe was very helpful from my first contact and throughout the process. He answered every one of my emails, of which there were many. Upon arrival we discovered we had no hot water. We called the phone number for the management company (clearly laid out in a book on the kitchen counter) and literally someone was there in 20 minutes, and discovered someone had accidentally flicked a switch off. He corrected it and we had no further problems with anything the rest of the week. I would definitely recommend this property or any property managed by this owner.

Over the Top Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5
So much more beautiful than the pictures! Our family of 4 children and grandchildren had the best amenities of any place we have ever stayed. When the owner said it was fully stocked, I was expecting the usual basic things, but this cabin was stocked to a whole new level. There was nothing you needed, but your food. The views were spectacular from every side of the cabin. There was plenty of room on the three levels for the families to have privacy, but also large places for us to gather, including the huge table for twelve. Many of the places we have stayed have been nicely furnished, but Crooked Creek seemed more like a home with beautiful and unique decor. We were close to many activities, and the owner was very nice, but we did not need to call for any problems. This was our 50th wedding anniversary trip with all of our immediate family and we stayed in Jackson Hole, Cody and Big Sky. Our stay at Crooked a Creek was by far the best part of our trip.

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5
We were a group of 9 consisting of two families. We stayed at Crooked Creek Ranch from July 5 through July 11. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer. The home is beautiful with an amazing deck. We were fortunate enough to see moose and elk every day. One night we had a moose eat within 20 yards of the house. During the day we'd go to Yellowstone and finish every night with a relaxing dinner on the deck. The Beehive Basin trail is a short distance away and is a must do! Joe and staff made us feel welcomed and were very accommodating. When we return to Montana we'll return to Crooked Creek.

Friends & Family early-Summer Retreat to Big Sky

Friends & Family early-Summer Retreat to Big Sky

Wow! Crooked Creek Ranch far exceeded our group's expectations. We stayed 5 very comfortable days. Everything we could want or need was well stocked- condiments, kitchen-wares, linens, board games, firewood, books & maps on the area, etc. It was unanimous in our group that this is a very special place and that we would love to come back again and again. The owners are very helpful and courteous, any questions we had were answered right away. You really don't have to leave this beautiful house to have a good time, but our group was in & out having adventures every day! We hiked the beautiful Bee Hive Basin Trail, fished for trout, watched for wildlife & wildflowers, took a ski-lift up to Lone Peak, rode horseback through the Spanish Peaks, white water rafted the Gallatin River, had campfires and soaked in the hot tub at night. Staying at the top of Bee Hive Basin was incredibly special, to say the least. Weather changed frequently. At the end of June we had snow, rain, hail and sunshine every day. Mostly sunshine, as the rain/snow never lasted long and only added to the unique beauty of the location.

Spectacular Property!

  • 5 of 5
We rented this beautiful house for a weekend ski getaway and came away more than pleased with the property. The house is situated on a beautiful plot of land providing picturesque views of Big Sky and is completely private without an other house in close view. Everything inside the house is high end and up-to-date and included all amenities/supplies a large group needs. Most importantly, the owner and management office were extremely professional and a real pleasure to speak with. They went beyond their duty to meet a special request of our group. I highly recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to the Big Sky area.

SPECTACULAR CABIN!!!! with extraordinary views.

  • 5 of 5
Let me first start by saying that My buddies and I choose a new venue yearly for our ski trip. We have thus stayed in many cabins all over the country and have become relatively spoiled by our accommodations. There are many things to love about this particular cabin. It has all the ammenities you could desire for an adult trip, large Hot tub, pool table, large deck with obscene natural views, and a huge kitchen and entertaining area. If I had to highlight our groups favorite aspect of the property I would say that the natural beauty and isolation of this acreage is magnificent. Getting to the property in the snow is a relatively harrowing experience especially at night, but in reality this is what made the property so great. No traffic, no crowds with plenty to do around the house with your group or family. They also do an exceptional job of keeping the road plowed. The other aspect of this property that I cant understate is how well managed it is. The owner is knowledgeable and responsive along with being easy to get along with. We had a very minor problem with the hot tub early in our stay and he had it fixed within only a few hours well before we returned from skiing. The property is only minutes from great hiking and skiing and this is not overstated, the snow was exceptional. I can only imagine what the views and wildlife are like in summer but if I were traveling with a large group or a large family I would immediately book this house!!!
