Its also a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons, murganzers, osprey and many other interesting species of birds. Huge oldgrowth cedars compliment the property, some you will see in the house recreated into majestic posts and beams. Chestermans Beach is ideally located across the road for surfing, beachfires (seasonally), beach combing, dogwalks or simply enjoying an early evenng stroll to watch an amazing west coast sunset. There is a small complex withing walking distance for groceries, movies, yoga, surf rentals, fish and chips(Wildside Grill), great coffee/espresso(The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style Yum! The Town of Tofino is a short drive in (5 Klm) so a car would be ideal to have with you. This rental is perfect for a quiet retreat or family get together - ideally suited for 6 -8 guests but there is an additional small studio space available on the property for larger groups up to 10.
The Blue Heron House is owned and managed by Elizabeth John and Ken Thomson. The couple also own a whalewatching company, Ocean Outfitters, in Tofino BC as well a lovely boutique ' COVET' a sure delight for avid shoppers. www.covettofino.com
The property was purchased as a raw piece of land in 2003. Chosen for its unique private position on a point of land overlooking Jensens Bay. The huge oldgrowth cedars were preserved as much as possible and what had to be removed for a building site were all used in the post and beam construction of the house. The house rental and studio were placed to be completely separate and private from each other.
Private, quiet, beautiful views, eagles, osprey, herons and a plethora of other birdlife. A great place to get out of the westerly wind and enjoy the sunshine!
The owners own a tour company in Tofino offering whalewatching, bearwatching, hotspring tours and Meares Island shuttle. Guests do receive a 15% discount.
