Bird of Paradise Bungalow in Gulfport, ~FL~

This is the second time we have rented a weekly vacation home in Gulfport and our first stay in Bird of Paradise Cottage. There do not seem to be a lot of weekly rental properties available in Gulfport and Bird of Paradise Cottage seemed very affordable compared with our last Gulfport rental. The cottage is very clean and the interior appears to have been recently remodeled throughout - the listing photos accurately reflect the unit's appearance. The cottage is advertised as having two bathrooms - the ad doesn't say that the second bathroom is outside in the screened-in porch area. This would not have been a problem if the weather had been warmer but morning temperatures were in the 30's during our December stay. We found the kitchen difficult to cook in because there is minimal lighting (one overhead light and a fan light) and only one electrical outlet to plug in a small appliance so I would hesitate to rent this for a longer stay. The location is within easy walking distance of downtown restaurants, live music, the dance casino, and the beach. The neighborhood was very quiet and we enjoyed walking around town.
