* A St Lucia vacation with a breathtaking Caribbean Sea view. Nature's Paradise is located on a ridge above the sea at Marigot Bay. The spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea sets the mood. Marigot Bay is what you have in mind when you think Tropical Paradise. * * * Our lush tropical gardens surround you & guarantee your privacy. Palms & Bougainvillea offer shade & color. You awake in the morning stunned by the breathtaking brilliance of the Caribbean - a turquoise like you have never imagined. * * * Nature's Paradise was designed with romance & privacy as the keys to a great vacation. 4-poster Queen Size beds are draped with netting from Thailand. Constant trade winds make air conditioning unnecessary. Our large ceiling fans guarantee your comfort. The ceilings are high and angled to allow plenty of light and airflow. The bathroom features a glass block shower and a built-in hair dryer. The sliding glass door opens onto a large balcony with those fabulous ocean views.

Our First Anniversary!: My wife and I just celebrated our 1st anniversary at Nature's Paradise - it was perfect. If you are looking for secluded yet spectacular accommodations this is it. Nature's Paradise is a hill top paradise above the prettiest bay in St. Lucia. It is secluded, yet close to 5 of the most popular restaurants on the island. 'Nature Dave' & his lovely wife Wanda are gracious hosts. We had one of their cottages to ourselves for 1wk (private decks overlooking the coast-the photos don’t lie). Morning swims surrounded by their beautiful, lush tropical gardens, it was the perfect place to 'escape'. Dave is a wealth of island information & provides personal tours of the island- we did one and it was great. Nature's Paradise provided us with the ideal setting to experience the beauty of the Caribbean & the treasures that St. Lucia has to offer. We would stay at Nature's Paradise again in a heartbeat. Dan Saltarelli, Cincinnati, Ohio

Breathtaking!: Dear Dave and Wanda, I can’t say enough about your warm and enthusiastic hospitality. My visit to St. Lucia was greatly enhanced by both your personality and spirit. That in addition to the infinite knowledge you both possess about the region made my experience fulfilling. Avocado House is uniquely comfortable and private. The main house and pool are equally original in their design. The flora is breathtaking and the views of the Caribbean and the Rousseau Valley leave me speechless.

Adam Bernstein, New York

A Special Romantic Hideaway!: Our home away from home for 1 week was Nature's Paradise in Marigot Bay, St. Lucia. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Our hosts, David and Wanda Wallace saw to it that all our needs were taken care of. We stayed in the Banana Cottage which had a great view of the Caribbean Ocean. This was our first time in St. Lucia so we didn't have a clue about what to see and do. David was very helpful in suggesting activities, restaurants, and tours. His personal tour offered to us was fantastic. He knew just where to go and was a pluthera of information concerning St. Lucia and its history and background behind every place he took us. We would recommend Nature's Paradise to anyone wanting a special romantic hideaway.

About David Wallace (Nature Dave)

WANDA:

“I love St. Lucia because of its abundant rain forest, beautiful shore line and laid back lifestyle.”

Wanda practices and teaches Tai Chi and Eagle Claw Kung Fu. “Health and food (and David) are my passions.” explains Wanda.

“Our fruit, veggies and fish are always fresh. It is a pleasure to cook and create mouth watering dishes with local ingredients.”

DAVID:

David is an award winning television director. He is an avid world traveler who found St. Lucia to be the best of all islands. “I like to sample the hot springs and waterfalls that I find around the island. I keep discovering new places all the time.” David and Wanda have climbed both Pitons and earned their scuba licenses in St. Lucia. “The flora and fauna are unforgettable.

It truly is Paradise.”

David Wallace (Nature Dave) purchased this cottage in 2002

Why David Wallace (Nature Dave) chose Marigot Bay

We choose St Lucia because it is the most beautiful island in the southern Caribbean. St Lucia has a large Rain-Forest, lots of beaches and wonderful warm people. It a rare country where you can relax and feel safe & secure everywhere. Stress is low and the food is great. So many restaurants!

What makes this cottage unique

Nature’s Paradise is about our spectacular views, lush gardens and 30ft, waterfall fed, swimming pool on the side of a cliff.

Our Tropical Breakfast (Mon - Fri) begins at eight and lasts until you have finished dining on our fresh breads & strong coffee. Fresh fruit is always available. The seasons dictate which fruits are on the table. Dining is in the Main House.

Did we mention our many Eco-Tours around the island?

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Nature's Paradise- it was perfect. If you are looking for secluded yet spectacular accommodations at reasonable pricing, this is it. Nature's Paradise is a hill top bed and breakfast above the prettiest bay in St. Lucia. It is secluded, yet close to 5 of the most popular restaurants on the island.

"Nature Dave" and his lovely wife Wanda are most gracious hosts. We had one of their 2 cottages to ourselves for one week (private decks overlooking the coast-the photos dont lie) and were treated to a wonderful and relaxing breakfast each morning. Morning swims surrounded by their beautiful, lush tropical gardens, it was the perfect place to "escape". Dave is a wealth of island information and even provides personal tours of the island- we did one and it was great. You will need to rent a jeep to get around, after all, you are on a volcano bed and it is rough terrain. Nature's Paradise provided us with the ideal setting to experience the beauty of the Caribbean and the treasures that St. Lucia has to offer. We would stay at Nature's Paradise again in a heartbeat.

Lost in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This was a truly beatiful vacation in everyway. It was quality time with my boyfriend (of 5 years) and we could not have picked a more perfect place. What a beautiful view and the gardens are so lush. The cottage was first class, good shower, full kitchen, 4 poster bed. The pool was way big, with more stunning views of the ocean. Wanda's breakfasts were good and different and the coffee was strong. I think were going to get married right here.

Two Weeks in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from two weeks in paradise on the island of St. Lucia. Our vacation there was one of the best we ever had! It was wonderful to escape from a Canadian winter to temperatures ranging in the high 20’s (in Fahrenheit that would be in the 80’s). What a picturesque place St. Lucia is! We come from the landlocked prairies and so we were in awe of the scenery: mountains, the jungle greenery and the Caribbean.

We had read glowing reviews of David and Wanda Wallace’s Nature’s Paradise. We were not disappointed! Nature’s Paradise is situated up a mountain just outside Marigot Bay, possibly the most beautiful place in St. Lucia. We stayed in the Avocado cottage. When we were at ”home”, we spent most of our time on the wraparound porch, overlooking the sea and Marigot Bay. Imagine waking up every morning to that view.

The cottage has a kitchen, great for weekend breakfasts and for some eat in meals.

The Wallaces provide a great breakfast from Monday to Friday. We were served tropical fruits, including juice made from the lime trees that grow on the property. There are also cheeses, local baguettes, Wanda’s amazing banana bread and muffins along with some of the best coffee we have ever had. It’s over breakfast that we had the opportunity to ask David and Wanda about the island and share with the other guests (a maximum of eight guests in the two cottages and two suites in the main house) various places and restaurants that they had visited. It was so interesting to meet couples from neighbouring provinces as well as from Oregon, Boston, and Britain.

One couple mentioned they wanted to rent a catamaran for the day. We decided to split the cost and had a wonderful day seeing the island from the sea. We stopped at Sugar Beach for about an hour and later on for some snorkeling. We raved about this trip so much that when another couple arrived they, too, wanted to take a cruise. They opted for a half- day excursion and we, along with another couple, shared the cost. We would not have considered going on a cruise had it not been suggested over breakfast. David was able to make the bookings for us.

David took us on an Eco Adventure, which we highly recommend. We visited a botanical garden and David, so knowledgeable about the vegetation, was an excellent guide. We went to a hot springs and spent some time in the pools there. The day ended with a visit to a volcano.

A Spectacular Winter Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We want to thank David and Wanda for their gracious hospitality during our two week stay in February 2015 at Nature’s Paradise. They are warm and friendly people with much knowledge about St. Lucia where they make their home. David can make arrangements and reservations for you. We were in need of a perfectly relaxed time and we were not disappointed. For those who want a more active life there are many activities to do such as zip lining, snorkeling and hiking Gros Piton.

Our very favorite memory is relaxing on the veranda of Avocado Cottage for morning coffee which we prepared in the coffee maker in our kitchen and sipping our pre-dinner rum punch in the early evening. One’s conversation is accompanied by the chirping of various birds and especially a pair of finches which followed us around the Paradise compound, on the main house porch where we caught up on email and in the pool area where we swam religiously around 3pm to catch the afternoon sun. Wanda’s breakfasts are delicious and healthy. We would eat out one meal a day and then prepare a light supper in the well equipped kitchen from provisions we purchased at a supermarket about twenty minutes away. For gifts, we purchased Cocoa Sticks for making delicious St. Lucian Chocolate Tea or hot chocolate. Recipe is on the internet and on the stick label.

Several local excursions pleased us very much: David’s Eco tour and its special foray into little known sulfur springs and a fish roti for lunch at Mango Tree with its exquisite view of the bay.

We did a half day sail and swim at Anse Mamin and wam at swam at Anse Cochon. Anse means cove.

We loved dining out. One favorite very special dining spot is the Kai Manje restaurant at the Ti Kaye Resort where we also enjoyed Spa massages. On Valentine’s Day we reserved at the very special Rainforest Hideaway Restaurant for dinner. We also enjoyed the evening meal at Capella where one shares dishes for two overlooking a lagoon. Other favorite restaurants are The Pink Plantation and Brown Sugar. We enjoyed Rum Punch as we visited various eating places; each place has its own variation. We also made our own from Chairman’s Reserve rum made in St. Lucia which we bought at a local supermarket on the way to Castries. We experimented with different juice mixtures but most had a least some pineapple juice. On Tuesday evenings we reserved at Chateau Mygo for dinner and to dance to the live music beginning around 7 pm.

These memories refresh us as we dig out our ca

Paradise!!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at Natures Paradise tired and a little run down.

We were looking for a complete break and had decided to get away because we both suddenly realised that the batteries were flat and a restful couple of weeks away was a priority. I found Natures Paradise on the net and with the encouragement and help from Trip Advisor soon found the stunning photographs of the cottages overlooking the Carribean Sea. After a few e mails to Dave who was on holiday with Wanda at the time in Florence Italy we were sorted and ready to fly away!

Joe Joe met us at the airport and so our adventure began. We came to rely on Joe Joe because I found my Driving license had expired!!He was full of St Lucian charm and information as well as being a safe and considerate driver to other road users and his passengers. It was a bit like having an old friend in the drivers seat and we warmed to him.He was almost always available to drive us around to wherever we suddenly decided to go.

And so we arrived at Natures Paradise and were warmly welcomed by Dave and Wanda.Dave drove us down to Marigot Bay for our supper and picked us up later on.I slept 10 hours that night and for 10 hours on 4 subsequent nights. The bed in Banana Cottage was so comfortable and the cool wafting air provided by the fan above the bed provided the perfect combination for restful sleep.

In the morning, after we had marveled at the endless view across the deep blue Carribean and the wonderful grounds and garden of which Wanda is so justifiable proud, Dave gently briefed us about the island and the trips we might make.In the end we did do something every day:the waterfall, the volcano, hotel chocolat,up to Rodney Bay and the Monument, off shore fishing with the lovely Cornelius, the Pitons, the market etc. We had of course planned to do nothing of the kind! We were just goig to chill out! Dave has this very gentle persuasive way with him and without too much cohersion we happily fell in and he guided us around and we are so pleased he did.

Dave does appear to be the quintessential laid back New York guy and so he is but he is also a very professional operator and runs and organises Natures Paradise with an eye for every detail. You will be looked after if you wish and left to your own devices if you wish. You want a taxi -it will be booked. You want a resturant booking-it will be done. You want to go fishing/snorkelling/scuba diving-it will be arranged.Nothing is too much trouble. You will feel special.Dave and

Fantastic adventure

  • 5 of 5

Nature's Paradise was a wonderful bed and breakfast. The listing online for Nature's Paradise was very accurate in what to expect upon arrival; we stayed in the Avocado Cottage. It had a large single room, large bathroom with walk in shower and small stocked kitchen. The porch was over sized with two reclining outdoor chairs and a small sitting table. The grounds were gorgeous and there's a lovely chilly pool with a great deck and phenomenal view. The hosts David and Wanda were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and there's a slew of great restaurants all along the bay. Check out: Doolittles, Chateau Mygo, Rainforest Hideaway, and Juliettas. For excursions visit Pigeon National Park, Rainforest Zip line Excursions, and charter a boat from Bateau Mygo (worth every cent!). Don't pass up David's Soufriere trip, either, lots of golden moments including a restaurant with the island's best view! Rent a car for mobility and grab some bug spray and you'll be all set! Wonderful time, five stars across the board.

Romantic paradise

  • 5 of 5

We chose Nature's Paradise as we wanted somewhere romantic to celebrate our anniversary and it certainly lived up to that, being perched above the Carribean with beautiful views, exotic wildlife but still accessible to the town of Marigot Bay. Our hosts, David and Wanda were marvelous and looked after us really well, showing us round the island and genuinely interested in us having a great time. We had great views from the veranda and the swimming pool. Breakfast was always a treat for me with different varieties of local fruit and great conversation. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it as a location, especially for those seeking a romantic place to get away to.

* Marigot Bay has a terrific beach. Our Main House and Cottages are set high on a hill for great views, so walking down to the beach is about 15 minutes, walking back up takes longer. The famous La Bas Beach is on the north side of the bay, there are no cars or roads. You go by ferry which runs 24/7. The boat ride is about 2 minutes and is fun. There are 4 good restaurants and 2 great restaurants on the bay. *** The nearest town is Castries, which is the capital of St. Lucia. It's about 25 minutes by car. There is often live music at the restaurants around Marigot Bay. Anse La Raye, the next town, has a great block party called Seafood-Friday. Anse La Raye is a fishing village that has retained its character.

This is an adventure you won't forget.

Other Activities: We encourage activity! We have some of the best Scuba Diving in the Caribbean and great Snorkeling; There are water sports on Marigot Bay. Go hiking in the Rain Forest; Horseback Riding on the beach; Restaurants with great food in lovely settings; Sightseeing by car; Boating galore; Swimming in the warm Caribbean Sea; Sun Tanning (be careful); Bird-watching, see the rare St Lucian Parrot etc, etc. There is so much to do.

Or you can do nothing at all. At Nature's Paradise there is a beautiful pool with a wood deck and comfortable lounges. Lay back, enjoy the sun and read a book.
