This two-bedroom/one-bath cottage is situated just 100 yards from beautiful Kailua Beach. It's landscaped in true Hawaiiana style. Palm trees and bamboo trees surround the cottage, lanai, and yard -- providing a peaceful private setting. Just renovated, the two separate bedrooms have a king-size and queen-size bed respectively. The cottage is decorated island-style, and has all the comforts of home. It's just a short walk to restaurants, shops, and beach rentals -- kayaks, windsurfers, etc. The location is perfect for those who don't want to drive.

The Windsurfer Cottage is uniquely noted 1 minute from Kailua Beach Park. The beach, kayak rentals, coffee shop and deli are all about a 1 minute walk from your front door. However, the cottage is quite private nestled in a tropical botanical garden.

The owner was very nice but the place was a disappointment. The first impression was not good because the lawn was not mowed and the courtyard was full of debris. There was a wrought iron table and chairs outside, many of the chairs rusted, and no cushions on them. The washer and drier, also outside, was dirty and rusted. With a little bit of work, the place could have looked so much better.

Inside, well, we had to change some lightbulbs ourselves; the bathroom towels were ratty and frayed and nothing I would put out for guests. The sheets were clean but old. The little kitchen toaster oven was full of someone else's crumbs.

The best part was the location, very close to the beach, but for the money, it was not what we expected at all. We were there for a month but no ammenities such as a cleaning service were offered, or changing of sheets and towels. Bottom line is that we were very disappointed and felt it was way too much money for what we got.
