All else pales when compared to the view from Whale Run's large private deck. At your feet will be an unusual Oregon coast rock formation and ocean channel that turn wave-watching into an 'extreme' pleasure. All your senses will engage as the powerful Pacific Ocean pounds against these ancient rocks. You'll see the waves breaking and you'll hear the roar and thunder of the waves cresting and slamming against the cliff, as they end their trans-Pacific journey. And you'll feel the earth move as these timeless foes do battle at your feet. The smell of the sea air will both invigorate and relax you.
Mere yards away from your deck you'll see whales, sea lions, otters, and seabirds -- adding to this unforgettable panorama of the world's greatest ocean. You can view it all in unparalleled comfort from the indescribable comfort of the five-person hot tub on your private deck.
Ski:
As our guest, you'll have full access to The Beach Club, the clubhouse for The Village at North Pointe -- where Whale View is located. The shops and restaurants of the quaint town of Depoe Bay are just a short walk away. You won't want to miss the Spouting Horn -- where the waves force water through old lava tubes, creating spectacular fountain effects.
Although Whale Run does not have direct walking beach access (it's built on solid rock just 50 feet above the waves), there are several excellent walking beaches close by.
Golf:
Whales, spectacular Pacific sunsets, or the night stars are all more fun from the vantage point of the hot tub. As the waves crash into the rocks right below you, the spray blasts high into the air -- higher than your second floor deck, reminding one of Fourth of July fireworks. It's a sight that brings out the 'oohs and aahs'.
