Great value, great location

I just stayed at this condo for 9 nights and it fit my needs perfectly. It was spotlessly clean, updated, and exactly as advertised. And very reasonable! I awoke each morning to birds singing in the trees just beyond the narrow end of the parking lot where I was, and there was an excellent view of the West Maui Mts and a partial view of Hakeakala from the walkway. The ceiling fan and location of the room meant that I rarely needed the A/C. And it's a very brief walk across the street to Kalama Park and the ocean! Each morning and each evening I walked along the ocean, listening to the gentle waves. The owners live in the condo next door, don't bother you, were very pleasant and provide beach towels, a small cooler, beach chair, microwave, small fridge, utensils. And there was a comfortable huge king-size bed. It was good being at the end of the walkway because the only people who walked by were the owners. The frosted glass window prevents a clear view out, but it also adds privacy. A very, very slight inconvenience.
It's not the Ritz Carlton, but I am a traveler that uses accommodations as a place to sleep, shower, briefly unwind and clean up between days outdoors sightseeing and doing photography. The room is small, but just fine for singles, active seniors or 2 people. It's an older building, but as I said, the room was good. Of course, the building has elevators, but I used the nearby stairs for exercise. It's well located in S Kihei where the beaches really start to get nice and it's easy to get to most all other parts of the island. Kihei is more of a locals area, so you don't get the resort-feeling crush. I roamed easily to Lahaina, Hana, Haleakala etc. Great views from the park of Kahoolawe and Lanai. Places to eat and a Foodland super market are nearby, and there's a laundromat on Lipoa St. a mile or two away.
If you are on a budget or don't need the luxury (or price tag) of a resort, I highly recommend it. BTW, Maui is wonderful, too!
