The culmination of many years of planning and dreams, our house features over 2400sq.ft. with Mexican tile floors, Mahogany trim and doors, and a “cooks” kitchen with granite countertops and Bosch gas stove. The villa has marble and tile in the bathrooms, a second floor balcony and patio, and lots of windows in the house so you can take advantage of the beautiful views surrounding it. The custom built dining room table seats 8 and the breakfast bar seats 3.
All bedrooms have private baths, large closets, comfortable beds with Serta pillowtop mattresses and box springs. One bedroom is on the first floor, the other two are located on the second floor and separated by the second floor balcony. Designed to be environmentally friendly, and not use AC, the home features 9 1/2 ft. ceilings and Hunter ceiling fans. The passive solar design and strategically placed bedroom windows provide soothing sea breezes along with views of the ocean and the sound of the waves lapping on the shore.
The rooftop features a large open, area and a built-in sofa which seats six and has a million dollar view. We love relaxing on the rooftop sofa with a Margarita and watching the indigenous birds, and the sun set over the jungle. It is the perfect way to end a great day at the beach!
If you've never visited Tankah before, you'll be delighted to see that it is a small community of very nice beachfront homes and three small hotels with restaurants, all situated on a quiet, sparkling bay, with white sand beaches. Kayak or walk to Casa Cenote for a snack or a cervesa and a swim in the Cenote, or visit the Tulum Mayan Ruins, eight kms. away. The options are all yours!
On-site caretakers and maid service six days a week are provided. Our housekeeper is a great cook and is also available to prepare breakfasts and dinners upon request for a nominal fee.
In addition to the caretakers who live on- site in a separate house, our American property manager lives nearby on the bay.
We have been visiting the area for over 20 years, and feel that Tankah offers the best of both worlds; nature & seclusion with nearby amenities such as shopping, restaurants and cultural sites. We have found The kayaking and snorkeling in front of the villa is some of the best in the area. We see a multitude of various fish every time we snorkel including,Queen Angelfish, Permit, Trunk, and Parrot fish.
Casa del Perro Feliz has been the home away from home for many, many, satisfied guests. We have found that the volume of repeat guests is by far the best testimonial we could ask for! We invite you to visit Casa del Perro Feliz! For more information visit our website as listed below!
This is a NON-SMOKING house. Smokers are asked to smoke outside only. No smoking on the roof due to the materials used on the roof’s surface.

Hi Ann,
I returned to California late last night and am currently going through Casa del Perro Feliz withdrawals. Your home is wonderful: the location, the views, the dogs, Ulises & Maria; wonderful, wonderful.
The Tulum ruins are incredible, its beaches amazing. Thanks for the tips on the best timing, everywhere we went we seemed to be two steps ahead of the crowds. We especially loved the snorkeling in Cozumel and Luca at the Blue Sky and margaritas on the beach.
Katie, Gray and I had a great vacation. Thank you.
We hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and wish you very Happy Holidays.
Katie, Gray & Colleen
