“Feels like living in a tree-house” with over 4 acres of private wildlife viewing, and pine trees galore in Clear Creek County The golden eagle makes its home here along with the rest of our treasured Colorado wildlife. This home has been beautifully updated, yet retains the inviting warm rustic lodge feel.

Truly a cook’s kitchen with an oversized island, double oven which includes a convection, and beautiful hickory cabinets. A large 5 burner electric stove makes for easy cooking cleanup The living room and dining area are flooded with light through the floor to ceiling windows. Perfect for entertaining or enjoying a quiet evening in front of the massive moss rock fireplace, a centerpiece of the home. This main level includes a large 2nd bedroom with a magnificent window, full bath and hot-water in-floor radiant heat.

As you climb the stairs to the upper level you will discover a master bedroom area that you will never want to leave. The room features a peaked ceiling with rustic T & G along with its own deck, perfect for a morning cup of coffee or late night glass of wine. Its adjoining spa bath allows you to enjoy the healthy benefits of a double oversized Jacuzzi tub and large enclosed steam shower. There is a rather private loft on this level which is a nice place to read or use as a fun sleeping area.

The lower level features a large family room with lots of light and plenty of room to relax with a movie or just enjoy family time. Outside there are lots of decks and a rock patio for enjoying the outdoors.

The home is close to I-70 which enables you a quick access to the city of Denver, the town of Evergreen or the ski areas. Loveland skiing is only 30 minutes away. With views of the continental divide and surrounding mountains you will experience sunsets and rises that will be apart of your Colorado memories forever.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of six weeks at the Eagles Nest. The views from that elevation were amazing and we found ourselves enjoying the scenic vistas from the deck almost daily.Our hybrid Toyota Camry had no problem making the steep approach to the house. However, we were there in the fall months, not winter.
The steam shower and whirlpool tub were great amenities after climbing 14ers or after a day of hiking.
The kitchen had everything we needed and we felt quite comfortable preparing meals; we even hosted a dinner party. Carol was a great landlord - helpful, easy to work with, and readily available when we had questions or neeeded her input.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Wonderful, Secluded Place To Stay

We stayed here over Thanksgiving with our family of four and my parents. It was a beautiful house and had plenty of room for us all. The house had everything we needed. It is definitely remote, but in a beautiful, serene area. We did not have 4 wheel drive and we were able to make it to the house. However, if there had been fresh snow we would not have made it to the house without 4 wheel drive since the private road in is quite steep for a short distance. Carol was amazing! Easy to reach and easy to talk to. We had an issue with heat the first day and Carol stayed in contact with us about it until it was resolved.

A Wonderful Vacation

My husband and I spent the entire summer of 2010 in this immaculately clean, beautiful
mountain home. From the very beginning of the rental search process, to the end of the vacation, Carol was extremely responsive, honest and helpful.
The home itself was comfortable and roomy and is accurately described in the VRBO pictures. We were only 2 people, but the house easily accommodated more, and we had our whole family for dinner several times. We enjoyed peaceful, quiet moments on the deck which overlooking incredible scenery. We frequently had a hummingbird visit during those times.
The house is about 10 minutes from the town of Evergreen, where I did food shopping. The road to get there (cr65) is gorgeous- have your camera ready. Red Rocks Amphitheater is also close by and Denver only 35-40 minutes away.
We do recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to best navigate the last short portion of the road leading to the house.
