About Timothy Niebauer

Timothy Niebauer is a physicist who lives and works in Boulder. Tim obtained his phD from Colorado University Boulder a couple dozen years ago and has lived in the area for over 25 years. Father of 3 he originally purchased Meeker Peek for the enjoyment of his family but as the kids grew and left home to start their own lives he decided to keep Meeker Peek but to rent it out to others who wished to share the area with their own families. As a boy, he and his EIGHT siblings enjoyed every summer in the Estes Park area and he wanted to open his home to other kids so they could also grow up with some fond memories of summer in the Rockies!

Timothy Niebauer purchased this house in 2000

Why Timothy Niebauer chose Estes Park

As a boy, he and his EIGHT siblings enjoyed every summer in the Estes Park area. He has many fond memories of those days. When he decided to rent Meeker Peek to vacationers he thought it would be a nice way for other children to created some fond memories of summer in the Rockies!

What makes this house unique

Allenspark is a small suburb of Estes Park. It has less than 500 year round residents! But it is conveniently located between the towns of Lyons and Estes Park and literally at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park. A perfect place to stay while in the area with easy access to everything the Rockies has to offer. But it also provides so much more peace and quiet than some of the homes in downtown Estes Park. No noise from the summer crowds and traffic, just the quiet of mountains.

Tim realizes that kids today need their 'devices' and many people need to check in with work (even on vacation - it's the new way of the world!). So he has provided hi speed internet, wifi and satellite tv access for Meeker Peek. There's no cell service at the house, but there's a land line for receiving calls, and most people have video chat available through their computers nowadays. Warmth, comfort, conveniences, views, peace and quiet. What more could you want?

Guestbook comments from the owner

june: Joan Miller: Our daughter-in-law and son visited us to spend this week here so she could share her childhood memories of Estes Park summers at her Aunt's house. We flew here from New Jersey. I was very impressed with the awesome landscapes. We hiked and picnicked, shopped and celbrated our 43rd anniversary at a restaurant. We laughed and shared memories. This beautiful cabin was welcoming to come home to each day. Definitely a great vacation! June: Duane, Margi, Megan, Greg and Brian Pickett: We really loved your beautiful cabin and the amazing views. Not to mention the many hummingbirds that stopped by. Thank you for sharing your place with us for a few days! August - the Coles from China: We were able to vacation here with my parents and siblings for a week and my husband's parents and siblings. We had a very lovely and restful time, slept and really RMNP and Meeker Peek!

A charming, quiet place

  • 5 of 5
We spent 12 days here, after closing on one house and before we could move into the next house. This house is a very nice, quiet little place tucked into the hills. There are plenty of hikes just outside your door, and two of our group even saw a herd of elk running in the meadow.

The kitchen is nicely laid out and well equiped. The whole space is nicely laid out, with one large bedroom on the main level and two more in the lower level. TVs on each level, nice sized table in the kitchen plus another on the upper deck. Lots of books, movies and games to keep anyone entertained. We had a great stay, and would stay here again.

The driveway is super-steep, so be careful when you drive or walk down it. Don't follow the Google directions, follow the directions they give you when you confirm your reservation. Google rarely steers me wrong, but they really did this time.

We stayed at your lovely home over the Christmas holiday and it was wonderful! The weather was a little dryer than we would have liked (kids wanted lots of snow), but it also allowed us to go on many impromptu strolls around the area, in the Rocky Mt Park at the end of the road (talk about convenient!), and even around town. Being able to turn on the stove at night and get cozy made the whole mountain Christmas experience better than ever. Having TWO tvs BOTH with satellite and HBO was brilliant! The kids watched so many Christmas specials in the downstairs den while my husband and I were able to watch more adult fare upstairs. Also, I had the tv on when I was cooking and it was very nice. We will definitely come back but we want to try a summer trip so we can take advantage of the hiking trails in RMNP and some of the summer fare in Estes Park (horesback riding, biking, etc.) Thanks again for opening your special place to a family of strangers and making our 2008 Christmas one of the most memorable of our lives.

What a delight! Everything was perfect! The views, the house, even the weather. Oh the fall colors!!! And the bugling elk in Estes Park!!! Meeker Peek is a magical place to stay and we are humbled by your generosity in sharing this awesome home with us. We hiked evey day in and around RMNP and even the trail head at the end of the road that opens up into Roosevelet National Park. The hummingbirds came around everyday to entertain us. We will definitely come back next year. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
