About this property

Big Traverse Bay Beach House.<br>Book now for fall!!

Located on one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the Keweenaw on Lake Superior! This 1 1/2 story Saltbox-style beach house has 175 feet of shoreline and a deep white sand beach (my Grandpa called it "singing sand"). Handicap accessible entry into the main floor from the wrap around deck. The entry leads into an airy space lit by skylights in a vaulted ceiling that contains an indoor sauna, bathroom, separate shower and spa tub and laundry area with washer/dryer.
A great room with a Mine rock fireplace built by a local stone mason warms chilly evenings. A huge kitchen with all the amenities leads to an eating area lined with windows for a panoramic view of the bay. The main floor bedroom has a full/queen bed. Four additional bedrooms upstairs and a 1/2 bathroom. The upstairs lake-side bedrooms have banks of windows for a stunning view and the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep. One has a full/queen bed, closet, dresser chair and nightstand and the other one has a bunk bed ( lower bed is a double mattress). The driveway-side bedrooms are mirrors of the lakeside rooms for size.
All new mattresses, bedding and linens this year. I updated the photos as we completed projects this winter and spring. We installed new flooring on the main floor, updated the furniture and painted all the walls throughout.
The deck ramp leads to the beautiful beach with fire pit area and swing for relaxing, beach games, kayaking, canoeing and swimming. Plenty of parking on site in a spacious yard full of blueberry plants and pine trees. Close to Lake Linden, Calumet, Copper Harbor and all of the many attractions and activities the U.P. has to offer.

Beautiful property
Beautiful area beautiful home. Owner was very easy to work with. We had a terrific time. The area is absolutely stunning. No complaints about the cleanliness. there is no Wi-Fi or television. Verizon phones did give us one bar of service thank goodness just be prepared ahead of time for that. Luckily we brought a radio along with us and were able to get lots of radio stations. GPS with the address took us to an empty lot so make sure you bring a map with you in case your phone coverage doesn’t work.

Family getaway
Best beach location ever! We loved lying in bed at night listening to the waves as well as viewing the spectacular sunrises and sunsets! Also a great place to make memories with family! We had room to spread out yet be together due to the open floor plan. The kitchen was well stocked with the things we needed for making meals. One thing we would change is the first bedroom on the right upstairs could really use a new mattress, as well as the mattress on the downstairs bed. Other than that, wonderful stay! The kids loved running around on the beach and the adults enjoyed it just as much.

By husband Bruce is and Electrical Engineer in Minnesota and I am a wife, mother, grandmother and Registered Nurse. Both of our fathers grew up in the UP and we have have been vacationing here our whole lives. We have had a life-long dream to be able to have a second home here some day! We have six children and a dozen grandchildren that keep us busy.

Why they chose this property

My Dad built the camp when I was a teenager so it is a dream come true for us to be able to carry on the tradition and continue making memories here with our family and to extend the camp's warmth and hospitality to others who love this beautiful peninsula as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Everything in the house was made by my Dad and other family members- there are so many wonderful memories for so many people of special times spent at the beach here. My mom is an avid reader and passed on her love of books to all of us through the generations, so there is a veritable library here organized by genre, as well as puzzles, games and outdoor toys. We hope everyone who visits here can unplug and soak in the slow life and revitalize their energy!
