About Bruce or Deanna Gardom
Our family moved to the New York Hudson Valley area in 2000 from the west coast. Deanna has been a flight attendant for 26 years and enjoys both flying and being home . Our daughter Olivia is in high schooland has enjoyed the country life and Red Hook's wonderful school system. Bruce worked in hotel management on the west coast for 20 years and decided a different lifestyle was needed. We had only planned on staying here for a couple of years but fell in love with the area and community and decided to stay. We built a vacation rental on our lake property to give Bruce a project and combining Bruce's knowledge of the hotel business and Deanna's bed and breakfast background from Napa Valley , California, the lake cottage has evolved into a wonderful full time business. We are grateful to our many repeat guests and our new guests for making it such a success.

Why Bruce or Deanna Gardom chose Red Hook
The location of our lake cottage is ideal for a getaway from the stress and fast pace of the city. The privacy and tranquility of the lake and cottage is so inviting and peaceful. We see wild life almost daily, such as deer, turkey or geese ,fox, rabbits , hawks, heron, swans and an occasional eagle. The wild life is abundant in the area.
Guestbook comments from the owner
FROM OUR GUEST BOOK...We needed a retreat, a place to unwind and relax. We found that, and more, at this peaceful cottage. We read, wrote, talked and watched the wildlife. Squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and deer fritted and scampered through the clearing. Alpha Squirrel was fun to watch-perched high on the birdfeeder, chattering gutteral challenges to those who would steal "his" hoard. The weather was nice. Some rain occassionally splattered the leaves, but at some point each day the sun sent shimmering grins across the lake. We hope all who stay here enjoy the traquility and fresh air as much as we did. This is trily a lovely cottage and we hope to find our way again.Thank you, Bruce and Deanna, for your hospitality and for sharing your cottage ( and the peace it brought)...
