A walk down a blue stone pathways leads to our charming lake cottage, built from local pine trees. The Cottage is surrounded by 50 year-old pine trees, perennials, and native trees -- and is situated on our four-acre property with large 160 feet of private, lake front. July, August shared with 1 other cottage.Very private, quiet, serene, and just steps to lake front. Relax in our outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake. It has an open kitchen, dining and sitting area with large pine beams, vaulted ceilings and a beautiful view of the lake or woods. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining areas, both inside and out seat four to six people. The sitting area is very inviting, featuring a Vermont casting gas stove and a large, cozy window seat overlooking the lake and woods. Bathroom has a claw foot tub with shower, with all the amenities: hair dryer, ironing board, washer and dryer, plenty of bath and lake towels. Located in the Hudson River Valley, known for the historical estates located along the Hudson River, quaint villages, Bard College and the Fisher Center designed by Frank Gehry. The Duchess County Fairgrounds hosts one of the largest county fairs in August, along with antique shows and the Sheep and Wool Festival. The Aerodrome in Rhinebeck has fabulous airshows and biplane rides. Take a cruise on the Hudson River and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We are located 35 minutes from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, 40 minutes from Woodstock and continue on for great hiking in the Catskill Mountains.

The bedroom on the main level has a full-size antique bed and sliding glass doors that lead out to the covered screened in porch overlooking the lake. The bathroom has a claw foot bathtub, hairdryer, and a stackable washer and dryer. The lake cottage also has a private patio with a hot tub, gas bbq, and fire pit as well as your own private garden. Steps down from the cottage is a 60-foot cedar deck, a 12-foot by 12-foot pergola, and floating dock. There are lounge chairs, a table and chairs, a porch swing, and a hammock -- all private and overlooking the lake. Take a dip in the spring-fed lake which is clean and refreshing. Enjoy a paddle in the canoe or 2 kayaks you may see painted turtles basking in the sun on fallen logs. Canada geese and swans may swim by. If you wake up early, don't be surprised if you see wild turkeys, deer, fox, or red tailed hawks. They're all very common in our area. Nearby are historical estates along the Hudson River.

The charming villages of Rhinebeck, Tivoli and Red Hook offer many choices for restaurants and nightly entertainment -- and are only about 15 minutes from our cottage. The Fisher Center on the grounds of Bard College is also only a 15 minute drive.

Perfect Spot Away From it All

My husband and I just spent 5 days at this cottage. It rained and sometimes poured, but despite that, we had a terrific time there. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and spotless, decorated with taste, and has all amenities one might think of: a great (very well equipped) kitchen, lovely gas fireplace, books, games, videos, cable, fast wi-fi, a hot tub, kayaks, etc.. etc… It is located in a remote area on a small lake, which makes it a very quiet and romantic spot. It is a perfect place for those who like to contemplate, read, take walks and forget city life for a while. The owners have thought of literally everything to make anyone's stay a pure delight. We certainly hope to be back.

Perfect Fall Get-Away

We have stayed in many homeaway locations, this was by far the absolute BEST! The cottage was immaculate with personal touches like a personalized welcome letter,fresh flowers, organic coffee and well stocked kitchen. Fluffy down comforters, lovely linens and a heated bathroom floor!! My husband and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary and both our birthdays during our three night stay. Paddled in the canoe, walked in the woods, lounged on the decks and screened porch and snuggled by the outdoor fire-pit! Quiet and remote setting. Enjoyed watching the birds feed at the feeder and the fattest chip munks ever frolic in the woods. Visited Hyde Park and Vanderbilt Mansion, great eateries in Rhinebeck (close by) Would definitely go back and have already recommended it to many friends..easy drive from NJ, NYC or PA.

Quiet and Cozy

The cottage is beautiful inside and out. We stayed for 2 nights... wished it was more. The location was very quiet and the lake was beautiful. The cabin was fully equipped and everything easily accessible. We had a great time fishing and boating on the lake. The hot tub was a wonderful way to end the day. Bruce and Deanna we can't thank you enough for the hospitality. Will definitely come back soon.

Quite and Cozy

My husband I spent 2 wonderful days at this secluded cabin tucked amongst the woods with a beautiful view of a lake. The weather was cold and it was snowy outside but the cabin was the most cozy and comfortable place to relax. We were also surprised and delighted with how well equipped the kitchen was to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stayed in the bedroom downstairs and awoke to the most beautiful view of snow covered trees and the frozen lake. I haven't had such a deep sleep in a long while.

This place is AMAZING!!!! It was more than we could have had imagined...Not only is this cabin immaculately clean and well maintained but has great perks such as a very well equipped kitchen and items available for leisure activities (kayaks, bikes, movies, games, books, etc...) We are avid travelers and it is rare to find such a gem of a place where you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
