This beautiful large new, two air-conditioned bedrooms/one-bath home is nestled on 5 private secluded acres in the foothills adjoining the El Yunque National Forest rain forest. We are one of very few properties offering the actual experience of living in the rain forest. Our home is an easy drive to the International Airport (SJU), old San Juan, the nightlife of El Condado and Isla Verde, world-famous beaches, golf courses, nature reserves, impressive underwater reefs and small cays. The nearby coastal area is ideal for snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking and deep sea fishing. All this is a short distance from the house while you enjoy sleeping in the privacy & tranquility of the cool night breezes in the rain forest. Our rainforest home is fully equipped with washer and dryer as well as broadband wireless internet. For the nature lover who seeks privacy, tranquility and the lush environment of the tropical rainforest, you have arrived.

Unique Open-air design: Our home has a unique 'open-air' design, so that no walls or unnecessary obstacles block the way of communication, natural light or rich, fresh air. There is a fully equipped and functional kitchen along with a movable island. Two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms are on the lower floor, one of which has double doors that open onto the veranda. The entire second floor is a wide open loft with two outdoor decks. The loft itself is fully furnished with four large futons that transform into beds. Guests will enjoy peaceful surroundings, lush vegetation, siestas in the hammocks on the expansive porch, great back-yard barbecues, unexpected rain followed by radiant sun and blue skies, sounds of the forest (especially the song of the coqui, the tiny tree frogs that welcomes the rain singing in unison), and marvelous morning walks along our private road.

My husband and I stayed at this incredible home for a week in May, and I am so glad I took the time to research rentals. Not only was the house perfect in every way, but there were tiny, dark condos for rent in other areas for lots more money - plus add-on charges. Here there was none of that. Pipo, the caretaker, let us know that it would be no problem at all if we called him for any reason. Everything was so ideal, that we didn't even need to call once....
The covered porch was where we spent our time when we weren't out exploring the mountains and beaches, small towns and snorkeling trips. We never even went into San Juan, because there was so much else nearby...
It rained most every day for a time in this lush area, and we watched the jungle grow daily from this porch. We shopped and cooked and slept, and I could not think of a better paradise to be in....

I just wanted to let you know what a fabulous time we had at your Rainforest Home! It was absolutely perfect! We saw and did so many amazing things during the week, including snorkeling, hiking to El Torro Peak, kayaking twice, Luquillo Beach, Pinones, Old San Juan, El Yunque and Humacao Nature Preserve. The home and grounds were gorgeous. We are very in to nature and birding. In the morning we would walk the entrance and driveway . We saw more birds around the rainforest home then we did anywhere else we went. Many of them, endemic to Puerto Rico. I already miss falling asleep to the sounds of the coquis. There is one on the back porch, in the plant by the wind chimes. During the day, when the wind would blow the chimes, the coqui would answer back. The house had everything we needed. After playing hard in the rainforest or ocean, it was a great retreat to come home to. Good shower, plenty of hot water, and all the linens were wonderful. We napped in the hammock, enjoyed coffee on the back porch each morning, and we even used the telescope one night to look at the moon off the top baclcony. Pipo was very nice and helpful. Even though we were in the rainforest, the house was always cool and there was always a breeze. We loved how open and airy it was. I would highly recommend your place to friends or anyone who is looking for a true paradise away from it all. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home for a magical vacation we will never forget.

We are a family of six with four children under the age of 10. The house easily accomodated us with plenty of room to spare. I cooked three meal per day without any difficulty. There are several good markets within a 5 mile radius. We swam at the local beaches and spent several days hiking the trails at the El Yunque rainforest. We took several day trips to Fajardo, and other surrounding areas. Overall, we had a very nice experience, and I would not hesitate to return.

We had an incredibly relaxing week at the rainforest home listening to the coqui frogs while reading in hammocks on the back porch, driving for a beachside lunch and sun-soak on the nearby Loquillo Beach, hiking to the top of the El Yunque rainforest trails, and falling asleep to the beautiful sound of rain on the roof after grilling out back surrounded by wonderful friends and enormous plants. Access to good grocery stores, restaurants of many varieties, beautiful outdoor adventures, and San Juan nightlife are so easy that we ran out of time to do half of what we had hoped to. I guess we'll have to go back another year...

Wow. This was an awesome house. It looked pretty
nice from the website, but was even better in real
life. Its hard to capture the energy of a place on the
web. I had only been to Puerto Rico once before,
but this was a totally different experience than what
I expected. The Rainforest Home was just that...a
home in the rainforest. The frogs and other wildlife
were constantly chirping and the leaves were taller
than me. The house was meticulously maintained
and comfortable, especially the hammocks. I was
probably most impressed with how remote it felt a
15 minute drive from civilization. Definately check
out the chicken shack at the end of the main
road...delicious.
