History:
This home is among the oldest existing structures on Chappaquiddick. It was thought to be the site of the Indian Meetinghouse used for gatherings and exchange of supplies. The stone walls were built by the Wampanoags. There are a few walls in the older section of the house which still have the walls plastered with a mix of horse hair and plaster. The old living room and two small bedrooms constitute the oldest part of the building. Some of the old books from the earliest inhabitants remain.
