Our family had a fabulous three nights/four days in Laguna Beach and everyone absolutely loved how AMAZING this house was! The owners have done a wonderful job maintaining the character of this historic home while bringing in tasteful upgrades and wonderful details. The house is deceptively large, with room to sleep 8, is very clean, well kept and appointed. When we first arrived, I confess I couldn't see the house very well from the street because of a landscaped hedge along the front. However, this turned out to be a big asset as it screened out the street from the front patio. Coming into the front yard you first notice a beautiful fountain and japanese maple then a flower covered trellis over a patio with teak dining table and chairs. Twinkle lights in the trellis creates a magical place in the evening for dinner and gathering. Stepping into the house you arrive in a wonderful living room with stone fireplace, exposed truss ceiling, douglas fir floors and beautiful stained glass accent windows. Double french doors open to the front patio and another set in the adjoining family room open out to a nice deck overlooking the rear yard. From the living room, venturing into each room was like opening a present, each had such character and appeal. Openess, fresh air and natural light are key features to enjoy about the house. The rear yard area has beautiful views out to the lush Bluebird Canyon and off to the coast. This reminded us of places in Hawaii we've been to. The large TV, wifi, and great sound system with Bose speakers were really appreciated (bring cd's) . The kitchen is large and well designed for meal prep and gathering for meals and fun. We cannot say enough about how delightful and restfull the time we spent there was and certainly hope to return again someday soon! Lastly, all the important destinations are easily walkable - beach, coffee places, restaurants, and shops. The owners are delightful people and were available for a couple of questions we had. After staying here, you will not want to leave!
